Rinehart pipes have caused quite a stir. Designed by Gerald Rinehart
from the world of NASCAR and manufactured by Denis Manning, the Rinehart
By BUB pipes have opened up plenty of eyes by opening up the exhaust
in plenty of Harleys. Rinehart’s 3-step headers for Softails, Dynas,
V-Rods and Sportsters–all available either flush-tipped or staggered–and
the Rinehart direct-fit True Duals for the FL brought real meaning to
the term “power pipes.” They did it with good looks and a
great tone. Little wonder they became so popular.
And now there’s even more. That blue-and-cream bobber on this issue’s
cover, as you might have noticed, uses Rinehart Slip Ons. They’re
brand-new for 2006. The new stuff doesn’t stop there. There’s
a completely new Rinehart 2-into-1 system now. It’s available for
Softails, Dynas, FLs and the late-model Sportsters. And all the Rinehart
systems, both the 2-into-2 and the new 2-into-1 designs, feature O2 sensor
ports to support aftermarket closed-loop FI management systems, and of
course the factory sensors on the ‘06 Dynas.
That new Rinehart 2-into-1 is exactly what you’d expect from this
Rinehart/BUB team. The design is unique. The pipes come off the head
at a 1 3/4-inch diameter, open up to a 1 7/8-inch diameter and then run
into a new tapered Megaphone Muffler. There are full-coverage 2 1/4-inch
heat shields, there’s an additional heat shield for the collector
and it all ends with that black-anodized billet aluminum Rinehart signature
end cap now using Multi-Angled Bell (MAB) technology for quicker throttle
response and a substantial and dyno-proven increase in both horsepower
and torque. And you’d better believe this system’s been dyno
tuned to deliver the goods. The system performs great, and does it with
a deep and unmistakable tone. Pure Rinehart.
And riders on a budget can have those signature Rineharts now. Not everyone
wants to change out the entire exhaust system and that’s where
the Rinehart Slip Ons come in. There are standard length 3 1/4-inch Rinehart
Slip Ons for Sportsters, Dynas and Softails, and there are longer, 3
1/2-inch diameter Slip Ons for the FLs and Springer Softails. They’re
a great choice for any customer looking for better performance, better
looks and a noticeably better sound than stock, and who wants all that
with the simple and economical installation of a Slip On muffler. The
new Rineharts are a direct fit to the stock head pipes and aftermarket
true-dual headers on the dressers, they all feature a new-design Rinehart
baffle and they bring a nice performance kick to the party. Dyno testing
showed a 10-plus horsepower bump over stock, and it comes from the design
of the baffles and the size and shape of the Slip On. There’s a
choice of end caps for the FL models, too, either the standard black-anodized
billet aluminum Rinehart signature end cap or the Eagle Beak, a Rinehart
update on the classic fishtail. Either way, there’s no mistaking
that this is the real deal.
Right from their introduction the Rinehart
Racing By BUB exhausts made their presence known. They did it with no-bull
performance, stunning looks, an almost unmatched tone and loads of BUB
manufacturing quality. All that’s gotten better with more choices
than ever, all available through Drag Specialties. Ask your rep.
