With all those new model Harley-Davidsons coming out for 2006, Memphis Shades has stepped up to the plate with new mounting hardware for all those Memphis Fats, Memphis Slims and the whole Memphis Shades Sportshield lineup. When it comes to Harleys, Memphis Shades has you and your customers covered!

here are plenty of new models in that 2006 Harley-Davidson lineup and Memphis Shades is ready for them. There are new mounting packages designed to quickly and easily put all those Memphis Fats, Memphis Slims and the whole Memphis Shades Sportshield lineup on those new bikes without a hitch.
There are six new-model Harleys you’ll want to pay particular attention to. The first is the 2006 Heritage Softail Standard. This is that bare-bones model delivered without a windshield or a light bar or saddlebags. The model designation is FLST and FLSTI for the injected version. The good news is that the existing Memphis Shades FL hardware kits fit this bike perfectly. That’s the MEM 9923 kit for the Fats and Slims, and the MEM 9932 to put the full line of Memphis Shades Sportshields on the 2006 Heritage Softail Standard.
More big news in the 2006 Harley lineup are the changes made to all the Dyna models. The Dynas, among other things, now have bigger 49mm fork tubes, and that, of course, has an effect on the windshield mounts across the board. The Memphis Shades fitment rundown for the 2006 Dynas goes like this:
The Standard Model Dynas, the FXDI and the Custom FXDCI, along with those 49mm fork tubes also mount a tach and speedo on the handlebar. A new Memphis Shades hardware kit had to be developed just for these bikes. The numbers here are MEM 2320-0003 for the Fats and Slims, and kit MEM 2320-0004 for the Sportshields.
Next comes the FXDWGI, the new Dyna Wide Glide. Here those 49mm fork tubes are mounted in wider-spaced triple trees. The 2006 Wide Glide requires a new mounting kit, as well. It’s MEM 2320-0005 the Fats and Slims, and for the Sportshields it’s MEM 2320-0004, the same one that works on the FXDs. It works beautifully here, too; you just leave the spacer out when mounting the windshields to the Wide Glide.
That leaves three more new Dynas for 2006, the FXDI-35 Anniversary Model Superglide, the FXDBI Street Bob and the FXDLI Low Rider. They all have the same 49mm fork tubes and triple-tree spacing as the FXD models, but these three don’t have those handlebar-mount gauges. Consequently, these three Dynas mount their windshields closer back to the handlebar to eliminate headlight reflection, and while specific mounting kits have already been developed and will be available by the time you read this, the exact Drag Specialties part numbers haven’t been determined as of this writing. But rest assured the correct mounting kits are ready, so check with your rep.
And that, in a nutshell, is the rundown of important changes you need to know to fit every Memphis Shades windshield to every bike in the 2006 Harley-Davidson lineup. While there are plenty of other Harley models offered for 2006, the ones listed here are the only ones needing new mounting kits. Everything else–Sportsters, Softails, FLs, V-Rods, the works–carries right over from the 2005 fitment lists, no problems involved.
