has sold lots of Race Tuner FI management packages, and if you stay
within the limitations of the listed Screamin’ Eagle parts those
Race Tuners work just fine. Change anything in the parts mix to something
not carrying a Harley-Davidson part number, however, and you’ve
got a tuning problem. Now, the only way to get an accurate and efficient
fuel curve is to put that bike on a dyno with an exhaust-gas sniffer
and get set for an extensive –and expensive –re-mapping
session starting from zero and involving some tedious math.
Not anymore. Daytona Twin Tec’s Twin Scan 88+ Kit, a neat combination
of their Twin Scan 88 Scan Tool and one of their wide-band exhaust gas
analyzer WEGO units, allows you to log air/fuel data at all throttle
positions and RPMs. The Twin Scan software then automatically analyzes
and organizes the data into easy-to-use tables with rows and columns
that correspond exactly to the Race Tuner’s input requirements.
A process that could conceivably take a full day on a dynamometer has
just been reduced to a quick afternoon’s work. The Twin Tec software
even highlights the areas needing adjustment, either lean or rich, and
all this information can be gathered by simply riding the motorcycle
as it would normally be used, or of course on a dynamometer. With the
Twin Scan 88+ Kit re-programming a Screamin’ Eagle Race Tuner on
a bike using something other than Screamin’ Eagle hardware instantly
becomes a lot easier.
The
Twin Scan 88+ Kit works on both Twin Cam engines and the V-Rod. The package
includes the Twin Tec Scan Tool; the WEGO unit; a wide-band oxygen sensor;
two weld nuts and block-off plugs; and the required software. It’s

Unlike the Screamin’ Eagle Race Tuner which marries
itself to a particular bike for a one-time installation, the Scan Plus
and the WEGO can be transferred from motorcycle to motorcycle. All you’ll
need are some extra weld nuts and plugs for the O2 sensor ports. Sound
