2005 race season was another banner year for THOR Motocross and its Amateur
Team. It was the year that brought numerous National Championships from
races all over the country, including the Mini O's in Florida,
Lake Whitney in Texas, World Mini in Las Vegas, and the Loretta Lynn
Amateur Nationals in Tennessee. THOR's Amateurs have proven to
be some of the fastest in the world and promise to be a contending force
for years to come.Riders such as Ryan Villopoto, Nico Izzi, Matt Boni, Austin Stroupe, and Jimmy Albertson showed again that they are consistently raising the bar for the rest of the amateur field; and solidified their spots on the list of Future Pro Stars. Villopoto brought home over a dozen National Championships including the Loretta's Gold he had been missing until this year. After a fantastic finish to his amateur career Ryan moved up to the Pro ranks for the final three Outdoor Nationals. RV showed the world that he could run with the big boys finishing 15th, 5th...and saving his best for last, finishing 2nd in the outdoor finale at Glen Helen! Ryan progressed in each of his Pro starts and looks to the 2006 season to be one of the favorites in the Supercross / Motocross Lites class. On the heels of their own championships, Izzi, Boni, Stroupe, and Albertson are just a few of the THOR Amateur Riders that seem poised to follow the same path. They are all looking to dominate in 2006 with hopes of enjoying similar success at the next level. Other names to look out for next year and beyond include Broc Tickle, Michael Hall, Terren OÕDell, Brandon Mays, Walker Brightwell, and Jessy Nelson. Everyone at THOR is extremely proud off each and every one of their riders and what they have been able to accomplish. THOR would like to congratulate all of them on a great 2005 season.
