SuperTrapp's popular IDSX line of exhausts is now available in a number of new applications for 2006. The IDSX features SuperTrapp's signature tuneable diffuser disc system, which allows the rider to add discs to increase horsepower or subtract discs to increase torque and reduce sound, depending on the application.
ith so many great new ATV models having been released recently, many riders may be sporting new wheels this holiday season. These riders know that the quickest way to add performance to a new ATV is an aftermarket exhaust. SuperTrapp, as always, is happy to oblige with a slew of new offerings in 2006 for its popular IDSX line of tuneable exhausts.
The IDSX exhaust is now available for the following applications: Honda Rancher 350 and 400 (part number 835-3404), 2005 Polaris 800 EFI (835-1802), 2005 Suzuki King Quad 700, 2003-2005 Yamaha Bruin (835-4351, MSRP $349) and Yamaha Rhino 660 full system (835-4664, $475) and universal (835-8175, $335).
SuperTrapp's IDSX series of exhausts offer a wide range of advantages for riders of big bore utility vehicles. A key feature is SuperTrapp's signature tuneable diffuser disc system. This system allows the rider to add discs to the IDSX to increase horsepower or subtract discs to increase torque and lower sound levels.
With many riding areas cracking down on ATV noise levels, the IDSX allows riders to enjoy a horsepower boost over a stock exhaust while still meeting mandated sound levels. The IDSX's tuneability is also vital for utility ATV applications such as hunting, where a low sound level is an absolute necessity. The real advantage of the IDSX is when a rider needs to switch from a low sound application to one that requires additional horsepower, and the exhaust can then be quickly tuned to fit the new situation.
Not only will the IDSX give you more power and flexibility, it will also save you the cost and time of installing a spark arrestor. The diffuser disc system doubles as a US Forest Service approved spark arrestor.
Beyond power and sound, SuperTrapp also considered some of the day-to-day challenges of riding when they designed the IDSX. These exhausts feature all stainless steel construction, including canister, head pipe and core for added durability. Plus, IDSX's internal disc design keeps mud from clogging the discs and the extended turndown outlet keeps exhaust out of the way.

TV racing fans - look for SuperTrapp to join you at the track in 2006. Long known for its dominance in flat track motorcycle racing, SuperTrapp will be joining forces with legendary ATV engine builder and long-time SuperTrapp customer, Tom Carlson in 2006 in the ATVA ITP-Moose Grand National Motocross Championship.
Carlson has been involved with ATV racing since 1983 and is currently the leader of TC Racing, one of the few national caliber shops that work with four-stroke engines. He is among the most respected names in the history of the sport, and his ATVs won seven straight four-stroke championships between 1991 and 1997. Carlson has built engines for ATV racing legends like Doug Gust and has also been named ATV Sport Magazine Builder of the Year.
"Pipes are more important than ever when you're racing a production ATV because the exhaust system accounts for 60 percent of the additional horsepower boost that performance race shops can add," Carlson said. "There are a lot of quality exhaust systems on the market, but only a few give you a significant boost in performance. SuperTrapp is one of them."
