ucati Corse Team riders Loris Capirossi and Carlos Checa couldn't have picked a better time to finish at the front of the pack. Capirossi's decisive win and Checa's strong 4th after working his way through the field at Motegi took place in front of all the Bridgestone executives and engineers responsible for the tires under those two Ducatis. Right here in the U.S. Bridgestone-equipped Ricky Carmichael with Team Makita Suzuki and Ivan Tedesco and Grant Langston with Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki each won their respective THQ/AMA Supercross Championships for the 2005 season.
