he future is now. For 2006 some Harley-Davidsons - the Dyna lineup as an example - feature state-of-the-art "Closed-Loop" fuel injection. That, of course, involves a pair of oxygen sensors in the exhaust. High tech stuff. Well, Samson's Big Guns 3 pipes for those Dynas come O2 sensor ready.
Samson is the first in the industry offering this, and the Samson design puts those O2 sensor-mounting bungs in the exact same place as they are on the OE Harley pipes. Samson has carefully set those mounting bungs, too. Those critical O2 sensors extend into the pipes in precisely the correct location, neither too deep nor too shallow. Other manufacturers, and even suppliers of aftermarket tuning modules, have just been supplying separate bungs to weld on which might or might not get correctly mounted. Not so here. With the Samson Dyna BG3s those sensor mounts are already in place and ready to go.
These third-generation Big Guns offer plenty more than that, too. Samson's taken everything good about the original Big Guns and BG2s and improved on it across the board. The BG3s have that familiar Samson style and deep tone, and now feature integrated and completely seamless 2 1/2-in. one-piece/full-coverage heat shields. No chance of any discoloration. The new BG3s come standard with integrated baffles, too. They're built right in and they're all steel which means nothing's going to blow out or need re-packing. And Samson has carefully crafted the tone. These pipes sound deep and powerful, but not so loud they'll attract attention from the boys in blue. The BG3s are custom pipes for today's motors, riders and roads.
Those new BG3s are available in all the good styles. The Cannons, Street Sweepers, Slashers and Rip Saws are all here, and along with those Dyna applications - going back to the 1991 models - they're offered for Softails from 1986 on and for the rubber-mount Sportsters. With a suggested retail of $469.95 the price is right. The new BG3s, O2 sensor ready, are real winners. Drag Specialties has them in stock so check with your rep. Like we said, the future is now.

peaking of winners, check out what the Samson-sponsored Ray Price Motorsports Top Fuel Nitro Bike is up to on the track. As this is written the Samson/Ray Price Nitro Harley just took the World Record at Rt. 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. Tommy Grimes, riding under the expert tutelage of the legendary Ray Price, ran a scorching 6.256 ET at 220.62 MPH, the quickest pass yet on a Nitro Harley. It was no fluke. In the 2nd round Grimes ran a 6.290 ET/222.51 MPH for a back up to that World Record. It was the fastest time of the meet, and in the finals Grimes ran 6.336 ET at 220.04 to best Doug VancilÕs 6.393 ET/203.58 MPH effort. No small feat. Samson/Price Motorsports is on a roll.
