The
big-tire look is hot right now, and Fat Baggers Inc. has answered the
call with their Wide Tire Kits.

Fat
Baggers Inc. also has a Wide Tire Kit available for the V-Rod.
ou
should have seen the Fat Baggers, Inc. booth at Daytona this year! The
Fat Baggers Inc. display, without exaggeration, was mobbed all week long.
New bolt-on kits adding 200-Series tires to FLH Harleys and 240-Series
rubber to the V-Rods drew in the curious from morning till night. No
need to fight that mob now, though. Both of those Fat Baggers Inc. Wide
Tire Kits are in the FatBook.
Fat
Baggers Inc. has been in the motorcycle industry for 33 years, operating
both Harley-Davidson and multi-brand dealerships and performance stores.
Three years ago they began developing their own products, parts like
these, and they set up a full machine shop facility to accomplish it.
The response has been phenomenal. Wide tires are hot, and a 200 on the
tail of a 'bagger and a 240 bringing up the rear on a V-Rod is
about the hottest thing on the market right now. Especially when it's
a straight bolt-on, everything is included - even the fender.
The
200 Tire FLH Kit comes with a powder coated swingarm, the rear axle with
spacers, that big rear fender, a Metzeler 200-18 tire and the 12mm transmission
offset hardware needed to make everything work. All you add is the wheel.
Installing the kit involves some transmission work, swapping in the new
1/2-inch longer main shaft and the new output gear. The Fat Baggers Inc.
hardware and inner-primary spacers moves the entire primary 1/2-inch
out, plenty enough for drive-belt clearance while still leaving room
for every True Dual exhaust system on the market. With this kit there
are no clearance issues with the exhaust. The kit retains the OEM saddlebags
and all the quick-detach locks, and there's a detachable Tour Pak Mount
available letting you reinstall the OEM Tour Pak on the wide-tire set
up. The factory backrest works with this kit, too. There are optional
filler strips to go between the new fender and saddlebags, and the whole
wide-tire conversion, the agents at Fat Baggers Inc. say, takes about
a day with most of that time spent dealing with the transmission modifications.
The
240 Tire V-Rod Kit is even easier to install. The V-Rod conversion doesn't
require any internal transmission work. With this kit it's a simple
matter of replacing the drive sprocket, and from stock to 240, it takes
half a day's time. The kit includes a fully
polished or chromed swingarm, the front pivot axle, rear axle with spacers,
a great looking 18 x 8.5 chrome plated rear wheel, a Metzeler 240-18
tire, that front sprocket hub, the inner fender, license plate mount
with turn signals and all the necessary hardware. The kit is available
without the wheel, too, should you choose to use some other design. This
V-Rod package is destined to be a hot seller. Harley-Davidson, as you
might know, now offers a Screamin' Eagle 240-tire option for the
2006 model, but it won't work on anything prior to 2006. This
one will, and naturally riders of pre-2006 V-Rods will want in on the
big-tire look. They can get it here, in bolt-on form.
Both
of these Fat Baggers Inc. Wide Tire Kits are brand new, definitely in
step with what's happening, priced right and they're
both available through Drag Specialties right now. Check with your rep.
