uperTrapp
is always looking for more ways to stay in touch with their dealers and
customers, so earlier this year it launched Pipeline, an e-newsletter
intended to do just that. Pipeline offers information on the latest SuperTrapp
products, racing updates, trivia, SuperTrapp user surveys and “Werner’s
Words,” a regular-featured column from Motorcycle Hall of Fame
member Bill Werner.
If you’re not receiving Pipeline–or,
if you are and have missed any issues–here’s a quick recap
of some of this year’s
highlights and a sneak peak into the last Pipeline of the year:

Bill Werner is the most successful tuner
in AMA Grand National history with 13 championships to his credit. He
spent 38 years as a racing mechanic for Harley-Davidson and is perhaps
the leading expert on how to squeeze every last bit of power from a Harley
engine. In addition to partnering with SuperTrapp on the design of new
race, and eventually street, systems, Bill graciously shares his expertise
and some interesting stories in his Pipeline column, ‘Werner’s
Words.’
In the first Pipeline, Bill Werner talked
about the passion that is required to succeed in the racing world, writing:
“It recently occurred to me that the word ‘passion’ comes
up often in conversations about racing. If you have that passion, you
recognize it in others. My family recognized my passion and accepted
my commitment. My daughters went as far as to schedule their weddings
around my races. Seeing this didn’t surprise my racers and team
members, but it did, once again, illustrate the level of commitment that
is necessary to be successful in this industry.
All of the racers I’ve worked with
share the passion. But they’re
not the only ones. We share it with the fans that loyally support them–fans
that have grown-up cheering week after week, season after season.
[It doesn’t take long to] start recognizing
some of the faces in the crowd. In fact, I can remember one fan who spent
the bulk of her teenage years watching her favorite race–Scott
Parker. After about five years of faithful attendance, signs and cheers,
Scott rewarded her passion, Joe Green style; throwing his racing jacket
to her after one of his many wins.”
In the upcoming Pipeline, Werner will take
you inside the development of his new exhaust for SuperTrapp and what
you can expect when the pipe is introduced in 2006.

Here
you’ll find the latest “dirt” on flat track
racing. The second issue of Pipeline featured a profile of SuperTrapp’s
race team. Readers were treated to a first look at SuperTrapp’s
up-and-coming rider, Shawn Baer:
“The 2005 racing season marks Mike
Hacker’s fourth consecutive
year with the SuperTrapp race team. Unfortunately for Hacker and race
fans alike, he injured his shoulder in the season’s first race
at Daytona, forcing him to undergo surgery on April 29 and suspend
his season until June.
Replacing Hacker during this time will be Shawn Baer. Baer achieved
a tenth place finish in last season’s 883 HDSP series. He will
continue to work with SuperTrapp’s team tuner, Carl Patrick,
who will prepare bikes for Shawn. The new rider made his debut
at Joliet, May 21, 2005.
Hacker is confident that Baer can help the team meet expectations
this season: ‘We chose Shawn because he is a sportsman and a highly
competitive rider.’ Hacker will take an active role in helping
Baer prepare for the upcoming races.”
