f you’re putting the second set of tires on a bike it’s a safe bet the OE suspension needs changing, too. The rider probably doesn’t even know it, and that’s where you and Progressive Suspension come in.
Stock shocks begin their downward spiral almost immediately. OE shocks use lesser materials chosen to get the motorcycle to a price point, and the degrading is a gradual process. To someone regularly riding the bike it feels like it always did, which is just a little bit worse day-by-day. Upgrade the suspension and that rider won’t believe the difference. His bike will handle tight and taut, it’ll feel like a brand-new motorcycle. Better than new, if you sell him the right parts.
The 412 Series shocks are the best-selling replacement shock in the Progressive Suspension lineup. For a reason: 412 Series shock absorbers are significantly better than the OE parts they replace. Everything from the machining of the valves, shafts and bodies to the type of shims and oil used is the highest quality for superior performance and long lasting durability.
Those new shocks come with progressively wound springs, too. The benefit here is an initial suppleness to the ride, with a noticeably firmer ride where it’s needed, towards the middle of the shock stroke. The springs are pre-load adjustable, too, and the 412 shocks are available in standard- or heavy-duty ratings so there’s an optimum choice for every situation, a light bike ridden one-up or a fully loaded tourer with a passenger. n
And don’t forget the front end. Progressive Suspension has a whole array of fork spring kits available, all progressively wound for a perfect match to those 412s out back. Fork lowering kits are also available if a lowered set of 412s are installed. Include the front springs in the update and, essentially, you’ve just created a brand-new motorcycle, at least as far and ride and handling goes. And that’s something a rider will definitely feel, and thank you for, too. Everything you need is available through Drag Specialties. Call your rep today.
