veryone’s online these days, sitting at their home PC’s surfing the web and shopping for everything from airline tickets to automobiles-to parts and accessories for their motorcycles and ATVs. That’s not necessarily good news for you. Sure, riders are finding everything that’s new, but when they pull out their credit card and make that purchase online where does that leave you? Lots of manufacturers, unfortunately, have taken this shortsighted view, selling directly online, but Slipstreamer’s not one of them. Slipstreamer’s website doesn’t compete with you for a sale, it’s built to help you sell. The site, www.slipstreamer.com (one of the oldest in the industry by the way) was built to be a working tool for both customers and dealers. A completely informational site, there’s no selling going on so there’s no way for a customer to purchase direct, cutting you out of the picture. Slipstreamer isn’t in competition with you for a sale.
Set up for information, the site is an up-to-the-second-fresh online catalog complete with lots of photos and detailed descriptions, and it’s updated regularly. Additionally, there’s an online application chart to take all the guess work out of what windshield will fit on what bike or ATV, and the charts are all simple to use. All you have to do is click on the Section, motorcycles for instance, then select the make, say it’s Honda, then zero in on the year and model you’re working with, and, bingo, the right chart pops open listing every Slipstreamer windshield that fits that particular application. No mistakes, all the latest products are included, and the information is all coming direct from the manufacturer. You can print out this custom application chart and go back to the catalog and look at all the windshields that fit, comparing them feature-for-feature, size and shape, and know that every one will work. Your customers will love this feature.
In the unlikely event that you have a problem or question there’s a real-time tech-connection link on the website too, a direct line to Slipstreamer. So if any question comes up, whether it’s about mounting hardware, an application you’re not really sure about, a new product, you name it, you can type in your question and in most cases have an answer within a half-hour, if not sooner. Printed-copies of the Slipstreamer catalog are available on the site too, should you or your customers need extras.
It can’t be emphasized enough that Slipstreamer’s website is a tool, not a competitor. There’s never a worry about showing a customer what’s available, what will fit, and then watching him go home and order that windshield online. Slipstreamer doesn’t work that way. Period. There’s no selling whatsoever on Slipstreamer’s site. Incidentally, since Slipstreamer was one of the first companies in the industry to set up a website, their site works like a gem. It’s quick, easy to navigate, and all the bugs have been worked out long ago. And don’t forget, because the site is always current, mid-season changes and additions are highlighted as they happen, or even featured on the Home Page. If it’s windshield news and both you and your customers need to know about it, it’s at www.slipstreamer.com. The selling part is left to you.
