MF
is a company that has its roots in racing. And even though FMF does
a great deal of business to trail and street riders, they never stray
far from their roots. It’s the trickle down theory:
Go racing, do your research on the track, create superior products and
send that technology out to all your customers to benefit from. It’s
a business model that works well for motorcycles and ATVs.
Racing has been good to FMF, and FMF continues to pay back to the sport
that has treated it so well. That is why FMF not only sponsors great
teams and riders, but whole series as well. ATVs are a big part of FMF’s
line-up, so FMF sponsors the Dirt Track ATVA Nationals as the title
sponsor.
Now known as the FMF Extreme Dirt Track ATVA Nationals, the series will
go through the summer months and will wrap up with the sixth round at
Bullet Speedway in Brashear, Texas on September 24.
On another note, the ATVA has begun imposing sound
limits on Pro racers. A 102-decibel sound limit will be enforced in the FMF Extreme
Dirt Track Nationals Pro classes. The sound limit has already been successfully
imposed on the ATVA ITP/Moose Grand National Championship Motocross
Series, with some of the top racers running the quietest pipes.
You can bet that FMF is ready to supply those racers
with the extra horsepower and weight savings they crave and still make an exhaust
system that will not only meet the sound requirements of the ATVA, but also the
US Forest Service. (Off-road riders take note).
As the pioneer of quiet performance mufflers, FMF raised the bar again
in 2005 with the second generation of Q series mufflers–the Q2.
Built from the ground up, the Q2 is a completely new design, engineered
for maximum performance while maintaining a sound level at or near 93dB
on most models. The Q2 incorporates Factory Forward Engineering to move
the muffler closer–centralizing the mass for improved handling
characteristics. The new Hi-Flo formed end cap reduces weight and is
less prone to damage. The Q2 has an anodized aluminum canister and is
lighter and quieter than the original Q. All three models utilize a maintenance
free USFS approved turbine type spark arrestor so there is no screen
to clean or burn out. With its free flowing internal baffles and chambers,
advanced sound-absorbing materials and now reduced weight, the Q2 is
a market leader for low sound/high performance. Less sound equals more
ground. Like they say, “Be part of the solution and take the
noise out of riding, not the fun!”
For two-stroke ATVs, FMF’s highly acclaimed “Q” series
silencers shook the motorcycling world with its debut in 2002. With
its longer oval canister, the trademarked Q uses internal technology that
retains optimum flow characteristics while enhancing sound absorption
qualities. The U.S. Forest legal spark arrestor will meet the mandated
96dB sound level set by the US Forest Service making it the quietest
two-stroke performance spark arrestor made! It combines serious sound
deadening qualities with excellent power.
FMF is Superbike Racing!
FMF isn’t just a leader in ATV, off-road, and motocross–they
also compete on the street. FMF Racing and the Corona Extra Suzuki
road race team joined forces to contest the AMA Superbike Championship series
for 2004 and now again in 2005.
With FMF Racing now in its second year of developing
and manufacturing high performance street bike exhausts, there was little hesitation
from Corona Extra Suzuki to bring FMF on board. After all, FMF has been a
leading manufacturer of off-road exhaust for over 30 years.
The 2005 Suzuki GSX-R600s and GSX-R1000s piloted
by Marty Craggill, Christian Pistoni and Ben Attard have been outfitted with
FMF exhaust systems that have been thoroughly tested and hand built to suit the
needs of the Corona Extra Team.
The technology developed on the track is available to the customers in
your dealership. And as always, FMF’s focus is on increased performance
and lighter weight.
From the track to your customer’s bikes, FMF offers the PowerCoreS
Titanium mufflers. These systems are computer designed then dyno and
rider tested for every application. All of these mufflers have a square,
perforated stainless steel inner core which provides optimum flow and
an authoritative sound thanks to FMF’s Hi-Flo technology. The oval
to round design provides optimum silencer volume combined with an exclusive
Hi-Flo square core to produce its own unique sound. The internal square
core uses Hi-Flo technology. FMF’s exclusive cross weave, multi-element
muffler packing provides longevity and maximum sound disbursement.
The modular end cap allows for a quick repack for optimum performance.
All PowerCoreS Titanium mufflers come with a titanium mid-pipe (if
applicable) and mounting hardware.
FMF also offers the PowerCoreS Aluminum mufflers with the same computer
design then dyno and rider tested for every application at a lower price
point then titanium. All of these mufflers have a square, perforated
stainless steel inner core which provides optimum flow and an authoritative
sound thanks to FMF’s Hi-Flo technology. All PowerCoreS Aluminum
mufflers come with a stainless steel mid-pipe (if applicable) and mounting
hardware.
