The Spinner Jacket is part of Alpinestar’s new Black Label line of relaxed fit jackets. The Spinner is available in 5 color combinations, and features a removable, quilted liner, and vents for optimum airflow, making it ideal for riding in a wide variety of temperatures.
A fresh look has hit the streets! Alpinestars has developed a new line of relaxed fit jackets under the title “Black Label,” evoking the look and feel of riding styles that were popular in the past and are now back in fashion.
Principal amongst the Black Label jackets is the Spinner. This is a “must have” jacket for any dealer wanting a strong line-up of riding jackets that combines attractive, relaxed fit design and styling with real strength in their technical specification and attributes.
With most riding jackets targeted at specific audiences, either an over-sized cut with limited technical features for cruiser enthusiasts or a fitted, aggressive look with a high level of protection for sportbike riders, the Spinner offers a real alternative to both markets. It is designed to give the rider plenty of room for movement and a sense of ease while on the bike without compromising safety in any way. Indeed, much attention has been paid to placement of protection and securing the padding so it stays in place both for everyday use and in the event of being called upon if the worst happens.
Placement and security of the protection is a crucial asset in any technical riding apparel and particularly hard to achieve in an oversized jacket. Alpinestars has constructed the Spinner jacket to ensure that the protection does not float or rotate and also does not intrude on the users sense of freedom and comfort. A back protector pocket is also built into the jacket, which comes with a foam comfort pad as standard. This can be replaced with an Alpinestars RC back protector, and although it is a separate purchase, it is a highly recommended investment for the additional safety protection it affords.
Concentration on safety performance is a key benefit of the Spinner that really sets it apart. Alpinestars invests substantial resources on product testing both on the road, on the track and in their own state of the art safety development laboratory.      The technical team at the Alpinestars lab concentrates on material and construction testing, examining every constituent part of each and every technical product that is developed. The Spinner jacket may be designed as a relaxed riding jacket but the testing process it has been subjected to is anything but relaxed.
Constructed with 1.4mm embossed leather, the Spinner’s hide has been tested for consistency of thickness and quality, tensile strength and elongation at the stretch breaking point, tear strength and importantly, seam construction and seam burst. Multiple abrasion tests have also been carried out to assess the jacket’s resistance to tarmac abrasion and wear and tear on other surfaces.
Protectors are relentlessly tested for impact resistance and shock dissipation and absorption to a very strict set of in-house criteria, as well as independent Government approval standards, ensuring that the Spinner jacket gives the very highest level of protection to the rider.
A leather jacket’s looks should improve, not diminish over years of use and Alpinestars has carried out extensive research and testing on the Spinner’s ability to resist natural wear and aging. Sweat resistance, ensuring that the dye does not bleed when the jacket is moist has been evaluated, color migration at high temperature to check dye stability, as well as UV resistance have also been thoroughly assessed. Indeed, Alpinestars has conducted aging tests so the jacket’s look and feel after five years of constant use is already proven.
The protection, look and feel of the Spinner is complemented by its comfort and convenience. A removable, quilted thermal liner gives the rider the ability to use the jacket in a broad range of temperatures, while intake and exhaust vents keep air flowing through the jacket for cooling on hot days. The jacket also features an extra large internal pocket, so you can carry a map or your favorite motorcycle magazine with you, as well as two external convenience pockets.
The Spinner jacket is available in five color combinations with sizing up to 4XL so, with great styling, attention to performance, protection and comfort, the Spinner offers a great deal to a wide range of riders, whether custom devotees or sports bike enthusiasts.
