otorcycling has highs and lows, and you don’t always get to choose which you’ll get on any given ride—unless you’re riding on Progressive Suspension’s Airtail suspension system for Harley-Davidson Softails. Made with Progressive Suspension’s highest quality custom-tuned damper, precision machined components, and show-chrome-finished covers, the Airtail suspension system is the perfect blend of engineering excellence and industrial artistry.
The Airtail system consists of two shim-stack, oil-damped shocks, one a coil shock and the other an air shock, working together to give you the ideal ride. The coil shock is the primary spring and supports the bike while providing support against bottoming out. The air shock uses a positive air spring to resist bottoming, and the negative air spring can be pressurized with an optional on-board compressor to pump the length of your shock down, which lowers the bike. To return to maximum ride height, just bleed the air out of the negative air spring via an on-board purge.
The Airtail suspension system lets you add or subtract ride height quickly and cleanly, so you can raise the bike up to carry a passenger and luggage, or drop it down for cruising the boulevard with that long, low look. The basic Airtail kit consists of a coil-spring shock, a dual-chamber air shock, and a manual air-fill valve. An optional kit includes an on-board compressor, and all necessary controls, lines, and fittings. Talk to your Drag Specialties rep for more details.
