And K&N’s definitely making parts to cover the V-twin market, beginning with their stock-replacement High-Flow air-filter elements for every Harley on the road, new and old. Those K&N High-Flow air filters are perfectly compatible with the OE equipment, even a modern Harley’s electronics, and they’ll last the lifetime of the bike. Developed from desert racing, K&N’s high-flow cotton gauze air filter is washable and reusable. The filters use four to six sheets of pleated and oiled cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh. The result is an air filter that dramatically improves airflow while protecting the engine for the life of the bike. The K&N replacement air filters fit right into the OE airbox, too. And K&N has custom, lots of it. The K&N Custom Air Cleaners for Harley-Davidsons combine K&N’s High-Flow filter performance with real custom style. These air cleaner assemblies are machined from billet aluminum, they’re polished and chrome plated and, besides providing a significant horsepower bump over stock, there’s a style to complement just about any bike. They’re available in a couple of different shapes, either round or teardrop, and there are a number of different finishes, too, like mirror, ball-grooved or flamed. There are replacement K&N High-Flow filter elements for plenty of the other aftermarket filter housings and carburetors on the market, too, like the S&S teardrop housings and carburetors, the Edelbrock carbs and housings and Mikuni applications. Rounding out this ultimate V-twin filtration package, K&N has Performance Oil Filters, too. Coming from K&N, these are no ordinary oil filters. The canisters are heavy-duty for extra strength and durability, and they’ll withstand higher oil pressures, too. There’s even a drilled hole on the canister’s installation/removal nut for a safety wire. Inside things are even more impressive. K&N’s oil filters use a high-flow filtering medium that’s totally compatible with the latest synthetic engine oils which can actually disintegrate the standard paper inside an ordinary oil filter. K&N’s also include an anti-drainback valve when applicable, preventing oil from draining back into the crankcase during engine shutdown. Thinking filters? Think K&N. It’s all in the FatBook, and it’s all available through Drag Specialties. |
