Pirelli’s new Mud Wiser ATV tires are designed specifically for exceptional handling in even the toughest mud and muck, but offer that same great performance in dry conditions as well.

ne of the biggest and best-known names in motorcycle tires–street, track or dirt–just upped the ante. Take a look at the two newest Pirellis, Mud Wiser and the Rut Buster, both introduced at the Indianapolis Dealer Expo just this past February, and both marking Pirelli’s first-ever foray into the ATV market.
     As you’d imagine, both of these brand-new Pirelli ATV tires draw heavily on Pirelli’s long and legendary racing history and technological know-how. These two aren’t just ATV “replacement” tires. The Mud Wiser and the Rut Buster bring decades of Pirelli performance into the equation, and these tires were developed with the help of ATV-racing legend, Donnie Banks, who helped with all testing and development in the U.S. The ATV tire market might never be the same.
     Consider the Mud Wiser. As the name suggests, this one is aimed at dealing with the nasty stuff, the deep muck ‘n’ mire. More than just a tire to get you through, Pirelli has employed all its racing technology to produce an ATV mud tire that comes out the other side of that pit with style. There’s straight-line and lateral high-speed stability here. The Mud Wiser’s unique tread pattern provides that get-out-of anything traction both forward and in reverse, too. These tires have 6-ply construction for durability and puncture resistance, and the deep tread carries an “over-the-tire-shoulder” design for grip, traction and tractability in all sorts of conditions. Pirelli developed its first-ever ATV tire to be an exceptional handler, whether it’s deep mud or regular trail riding. The Mud Wiser is available in two front and four rear sizes, all tubeless. The fronts are sized AT 25 x 8-12 and AT 26 x 10-12. Mud Wiser rears are offered in AT 25 x 10-12, AT 26 x 12-12, AT 25 x 11-10, and AT 22 x 11-10 sizes.
     Now take a look at the Rut Busters. Pirelli has pegged the Rut Buster to be a “get it done” set of ATV tires, excelling in everything from the loosest sand to the most formidable rocks. The Rut Busters were designed to do all of that while delivering confidence-inspiring stability and smooth handling, too. These new Pirellis come with a puncture-resistant carcass and tread patterns that not only work, but also wear great. The Rut Buster’s tread was designed to provide a constant level of traction, on and off the trail. The Rut Busters also feature a special Pirelli-contoured profile. They steer easy. The tires come in four sizes. There are AT 25 x 8-12 and AT 24 x 8-12 tubeless fronts, for the rear there are AT 25 x 11-10 and AT 25 x 10-12s.
     Both of these new Pirelli ATV tires are priced right. Suggested retails for the Mud Wisers range from $53.95 to $97.95. The Rut Busters are priced from just $37.95 to $77.95.
