er Lindby made the first set of his popular LINBARS way back in 1993, and in the dozen years since, those bars have become a Harley rider’s favorite. They’ve been in the Drag Specialties FatBook for quite a while now, and they’ve sold like crazy. They’re mounted on Harleys everywhere. You’ve seen them.
Now you can put those very same Lindby Custom LINBARS on the metric bikes, too. They’re available for all the Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Victory and Yamaha cruisers. It’s easy to see why those LINBARS became such a favorite on Harleys, and why they’ll be just as welcomed by your metric riders. The LINBARS are a clever combination of an engine guard and a foot peg. They’re easy to mount, comfortable to use and they look great.

LINBARS by Lindby Custom are a uniquely designed combination of an engine guard and a highway peg. Popular with Harley riders for years, these innovative LINBARS are now available for metric bikes..

Per Lindby developed his LINBARS out of desperation–he couldn’t find anything in the aftermarket he liked. Every set of highway bars he found seemed to be some sort of variation on those old, clumsy-looking oversized round-tubing engine guards that have been around forever. To Per’s eye those things were ungainly looking, uncomfortable in use, and possibly even unsafe. “When you clamp pegs onto the outside of those bars,” he says, “you’re really spread out riding the motorcycle, and if you mount the foot rests on the inside of the bars it seemed to me you could easily catch your foot if you needed to get to the brake pedal fast.” He knew he could come up with something better, and he did.

The LINBAR is a neatly styled and superbly functional combination of an engine guard and a highway peg. The bonus here is that, besides their totally functional design, the LINBAR adds a noticeable degree of extra style to the bike. Every LINBAR is formed from triple-chrome-plated .120-inch wall mild steel tubing with a full 1 1/4-inch outside diameter. It’s heavy gauge material. These bars are rigid. And the LINBAR’s comfortable and easy to get to footrest area is formed right into the top of the bar. Machined grooves in the tubing are filled with a series of long lasting, and replaceable, Neoprene O-rings. Those O-rings look a lot better than rubber, and because they don’t dry out nearly as quickly as rubber they last longer, too. All in all, it’s a unique and well thought out piece. So unique, in fact, it’s patented.
LINBARS install easily. Every set is a direct bolt-on to the motorcycle it’s designed for and uses existing mounting points. All the hardware is supplied, and anyone with even minimal mechanical skills and the simplest set of hand tools can have a set of LINBARS mounted in no time flat. Lindby Custom offers a great warranty, too. There’s a lifetime workmanship guarantee on the bars themselves, there are no-questions-asked replacements should anything ever go wrong (excepting an accident, of course), and there’s a 12-month warranty on the chrome. Those long-life Neoprene O-rings on the footrests seem to last forever, too, and complete replacement sets are available for just $6.95.
And all of this is now in the Parts Unlimited catalog with applications for all the popular metric cruisers. There are LINBARS for the Honda VT1100 Shadow Sabre, the VTX1300, the VTX1800 Custom and Retro and the Shadow Aero 750. A set for the Spirit 750 will be ready soon. There are LINBARS for the Kawasaki VN1500, too, and for the Victory V92C and the Suzuki VL1500 Intruder and 800 Volusia. And Lindby Custom has the Yamahas covered. There are LINBARS for the 650 V-Star, 1100 V-Star, the Royal Stars and the Road Stars. The suggested retail for all those bars, in all the applications, is just $336.95, well within a rider’s budget.
Lindby Custom’s LINBARS are a Harley-Davidson favorite. All these metric-bike applications will be just as popular, and Parts Unlimited has them all. They’re in the warehouses now.
