Pingel’s
universal-fit All-Electric Shift Kit.
hecked
through your January 2005 edition of the Drag Specialties Skinny
yet? Those monthly updates to the FatBook are your key to the newest
and hottest products on the Drag Specialties shelves, stuff so new
it wasn’t even ready for photos when that huge FatBook catalog
went together. Make it a point to check out those Skinny editions
regularly–you don’t want to be left out of the loop when
something new and exciting comes along, and the first place you’re
going to find out about it is in the Skinny.
Here are two perfect examples, a couple of brand-new offerings from
Pingel Enterprise, Inc. The Pingel All-Electric Shift Kit and the
Cycle Jaws are both just out, and they’re both included in the pages of that
January 2005 Skinny. These two new offerings from Pingel are both going
to be pretty interesting to your customers, too–the All-Electric
Shift Kit, obviously, will be a real hit with performance riders, but
everyday cruisers and touring riders will appreciate the benefits of
clutchless shifting, too. And the innovative and well-engineered Pingel
Cycle Jaws will be a real boon to anyone who ever has to transport a
motorcycle in a pickup or on a trailer, or even services or cleans and
polishes that bike at home. The Cycle Jaws clamps onto the front tire,
safely and securely holding that Harley upright.

It’s a state-of-the-art system. Does the idea of lightning-fast
gearshifts at the touch of a button sound interesting? Both upshifts
and downshifts? That’s what’s offered here, and there are
kits available for all the popular Harley-Davidsons. There are All-Electric
Shift Kits for 1990 through 2005 Softail models with and without floorboards,
they’re offered for 1982 through 2005 FLT, FLHR, FLHT and FLTR
models, there are All-Electric Shift Kits for 1995 to 2005 Sportsters
and there are kits for the V-Rod. There are even a couple universal-fit
shift kits, too, one for 7/8-inch handlebars and another for 1-inch handlebars.
And every Pingel All-Electric Shift Kit does the same thing: It eliminates
the need to shift with your foot, or use the clutch.
The All-Electric Shift kits include everything needed. There’s
a dual-button handlebar control for the upshifts and downshifts, a chrome-plated
electronic shift cylinder, and there’s a model-specific bolt-on
shift cylinder support bracket. At the heart of it all there’s
a state-of-the-art electronic control module that sends a quick and reliable
signal from the button controls to the shift cylinder and to the ignition
system, momentarily interrupting the ignition coils and allowing for
that lightening-fast shift, up or down, without any delay. Step-by-step
instructions, complete with photos, assure an easy installation. The
Pingel All-Electric Shift Kit even retains the Harley’s OEM shifting
ability, but the only time you’ll need to use that clutch and shift
lever is for starting and stopping.
Here are the Part Numbers, applications and suggested retail prices.

The new Cycle Jaws from Pingel make stabilizing the front end of a motorcycle
during transport or in the shop or garage a breeze. The Cycle Jaws are
versatile, adjusting to various tire sizes, and built tough with thick-wall
yellow zinc plated steel.
This new offering from Pingel
makes stabilizing the front end of a motorcycle for truck- or trailer
transportation an easy, one-man operation, and it’ll be just as useful in the shop or garage. Just roll your
bike into the Cycle Jaws, leave it in gear and get off. Easy as that.
Taking that bike out of the Cycle Jaws is just as simple because there’s
no bulky hardware to roll that motorcycle up and over. Cycle Jaws firmly
clamps the front wheel in place, too, and it features an adjustable tire-locator
to prevent damage to those valuable rotors and rims. The Pingel Cycle
Jaws adjust to tire sizes from 3-inches to 6 1/2-inches wide, and it’s
constructed with heavy-duty thick-wall yellow zinc plated steel to withstand
the test of time and the elements. You can install or remove Cycle Jaws
from your truck or trailer in just minutes, too, and the Cycle Jaws can
be installed on a workshop lift or directly to the garage floor. Tie-downs,
of course, are recommended for motorcycle transportation, and they’re
a good idea on the worktable and garage floor, as well. The Pingel Cycle
Jaws, Part #4101-0059, retail for $349.95.
