Dunlop’s D208ZR high-performance street tire offers great street feel, and is designed for exceptional performance whether it is straight-up vertical or leaned over on its shoulder.

If speed and grip is what you’re looking for, then Dunlop’s D208GP front tire is the choice for you. A newly developed race compound enhances performance and improves traction.

acers, track-day riders, super-street road warriors and sport tourers all want the best tire they can find. Different riders want different combinations of traction, handling, stability, maximum performance in both the wet and the dry, a good ride and, maybe and maybe some mileage out of that tire, too. It can be hard to match the right tire to your different customers, especially when you’re faced with the almost overwhelming number of sport tires on the market today.
Dunlop’s made the choice easy. Just four sets of Dunlops will take care of all those riders’ needs. The D208GP, D208ZR, D220 and D205 eliminate all the confusion when it comes to choosing a high-performance radial tire. Dunlops have rolled to 14 consecutive AMA Superbike championships and 17 consecutive AMA Supersport championships and that know-how has filtered straight into these tires. These four Dunlops deliver everything a sport rider wants, whether the passion’s racing, track days riding or sport touring.
For serious racing and track-day work the D208GP is your tire. The D208GP front uses a new race-proven compound, and the rear incorporates an innovative hybrid carcass brand-new from Dunlop. This is cutting-edge stuff, technology developed in Dunlop’s racing slick. The D208GP rear combines one nylon ply, one nylon cut-breaker, plus there’s a continuously wound belt of aramid fiber, a Jointless Band (JLB). This innovative combination of materials and construction creates a tire carcass with great stability and incredible cornering grip. It’s a cooler-running, zero-growth racing tire, and it’s forgiving. You change lines through the corners as needed. The tread pattern is identical to the tread on Dunlop’s national championship-winning tires and there’s the same maximum footprint and superior grip. The D208GP is a “bolt-on” tire too, requiring minimal adjustments at the track.
The D208ZR puts the best of all that into a tire designed and compounded with an eye more towards super-street sport riding. This Dunlop’s up to track-day work, too; the D208ZR combines the best of Dunlop’s street- and track technology. These tires have the same cut-angle breaker as the GP, the rear has that Jointless Band (JLB) construction and the tread patterns work great in both the wet and dry. The compounding has a tenacious grip and the D208ZRs warm-up quickly. This is a street tire you can confidently take to the track, and that’s a heck of a combination.
For sport riders who take their machines on extended-mileage road-runs there’s the D220 and D205. Just like that Energizer Bunny these are sportbike tires that keep going and going. Along with that extended-mileage compounding, the D205 has a center tread pattern to really improve dry-weather grip and its shoulders are designed to enhance traction in the wet. There’s Jointless Band construction, too, and a serious footprint. The D220 works even better in the wet, and these tires have really exceptional wear characteristics. They’re ideal for sport riders who take their bikes on long rides.
Four tires to cover the whole sportbike market, track racers to sport tourers. How easy is that? Dunlop tires are designed in the U.S. for U.S. riding demands, and they’re made in the U.S.A. Parts Unlimited carries them all, too. How’s that for taking the confusion out of things?
