2004 125 West Supercross Champion Ivan Tedesco chooses
Bridgestones as his tire of choice.

The new MCS Gritty ED663/ED668 front-and-rear combination features diagonally-cut shoulder blocks for increased traction, extreme cornering grip and control in soft-terrain. (ED663 shown).

Bridgestone’s new M401A and M402A (pictured), are designed specifically for four-strokes to improve braking and shock absorption. This tire’s larger footprint helps to increase the drive.

had Reed, Bubba Stewart, Ivan Tedesco, Barry Hawk and Jason Raines all had a pretty good season on their Bridgestones. Reed, of course, won the 250 Supercross Championship and the U.S. Open Finale. Bubba tore it up wherever he went, Tedesco took the 125 Western Region Supercross Championship, Barry Hawk showed how a pro does it in GNCC and Jason Raines clinched the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series. Yep, 2004 was a banner year for these guys, thanks in no small part to those Bridgestone tires.
Superstars weren’t the only winners, either. During all of 2004, Bridgestone tires worked for any rider using them–pro, amateur or recreational–and it’s going to get better in 2005. Bridgestone just released some great new motocross and Enduro tires, both destined to be the winner’s choice next season, and they’re already in the Parts Unlimited warehouses.
Let’s talk motocross tires, and the new Bridgestone M401A and M402A. Premium intermediate motocross tires, they’ve already been selected as OE for the 2005 Suzuki RMZ450, which should tell you something right out of the gate. The M401A and M402A are modified versions of the current M401 and M402 tires. They’re constructed, compounded and sized especially for those torquey, and increasingly popular, four-stroke machines. The new Bridgestone front has increased in size to a 90/100-21 for improved shock absorption and better braking, and it’s matched with the new M402A rear with a lower profile sized 120/80-19. While maintaining the same overall diameter as the familiar 110/90-19 rear, the M402A has a much bigger footprint to really put the horsepower of those big four-strokes to work and dramatically increase the drive. These new sizes will take the standard 80/100-21 and 110/90-9 heavy or ultra-heavy tubes. The 90/100-21 M401A front carries Parts Unlimited #0312-0037, the 120/80-19 M402A rear is #0313-0055, and they’re both available now.
Bridgestone’s upped the ante in Enduro competition, too. They’ve taken everything they’ve learned from years of off-road success and poured it all into brand-new tread patterns, compounds and constructions for aggressive Enduro work. The new MCS Gritty ED663/E668 front-and-rear combination deals up gobs of cornering grip and control in soft-terrain conditions. These new Bridgestones have a lot going for them, starting with individual tread blocks for a deep, measured bite into the road surface. Diagonally cut shoulder blocks are placed to enhance traction, and the tread’s open-block pattern is self-cleaning. The new Gritty Enduros also feature a compound specially formulated for consistent wear. These new Bridgestones, in sizes 90/90-21 front and 120/90-18 / 140/80-18 rear are in the warehouses now, too. That 90/90-21 carries part #0312-0029, the 120/90-18 rear is part #0313-0043, and the 140/80-18 is part #0313-0044.
This was definitely a banner year for Bridgestone! New four-stroke MX tires and the Gritty Enduros are making 2005 look even better. It starts right now, too, because these new Bridgestones are here. Call your Parts Unlimited rep today and get in on the action.
