ike a lot of custom builders, Jim Nasi spent many years working with production bikes and building his own creations in his garage. Those years of experience laid a foundation for Jim Nasi Customs (JNC) and created a great distaste for poorly made, poorly fitting parts. “It’s really frustrating to be out in your garage for several hours wrestling with a part that just won’t fit,” says Jim. “I won’t do that to our customers. We swore at JNC that our parts would fit exactly right and easily bolt right on. It’s no easy task, but that’s JNC’s commitment.”
Because Nasi and his staff are so familiar with building bikes from the ground up, they understand how important it is to get a quality part that suits the builder’s individual purpose. That is what inspired JNC to make its innovative and unique custom billet parts available to everyone. Now JNC is a great outlet for the do-it-yourselfer who likes to get his (or her) hands dirty. Along with a wide selection of custom JNC billet parts they offer full chassis with custom sheet metal fabrication options, and offer technical support if the parts don’t seem to be cooperating. JNC believes in complete, personalized service.
JNC still builds custom machines, which continue to serve as test beds for developing JNC custom parts. Jim Nasi Customs takes great pride and care in every one of the custom bikes built in their shop. JNC is committed to using only the best parts available in the industry, or making one-off creations that suit the customers’ needs. “We build high quality, low volume custom bikes,” says Jim. “About 24 bikes a year. It was from our own customers that we discovered that people wanted to buy our components.” After years of building custom bikes and developing innovative ideas, JNC took up the task of manufacturing and marketing custom parts to the public with fit and quality being the top priorities.
Jim Nasi Customs just recently joined Drag Specialties in order to offer JNC components through the top distribution network in the country. “We feel that Drag is the best way to reach the people,” says Jim. “Drag has the best reputation, best staff, very impressive facilities and the highest standards.”
It was those high standards that attracted JNC to Drag Specialties and in return JNC’s high quality components were attractive to Drag. “Drag is very selective,” says Jim. “Being part of Drag is big deal, they don’t let hacks in. JNC is honored to be part of the Drag program.”
The commitment to custom quality runs deep at Jim Nasi Customs. Jim himself handpicks every member of the JNC team. “We have an incredible crew at JNC, and it is evident in the craftsmanship of our custom bikes,” says Jim. “Our metal fabricators, assemblers, mechanics and engineering design personnel are highly experienced and here to help with any questions you might have. It is because of this dedicated and driven crew that JNC has attained success in the custom bike market. I encourage all our customers to visit our facility, meet and talk to these people personally, and experience it first hand.”
Drag Specialties looks forward to a long affiliation with Jim Nasi Customs. JNC’s commitment to quality and innovation makes them a great player on the Drag team. “JNC has established an excellent reputation in the industry for high quality bikes,” says Jim. “And we want to assure everyone that our parts will be held to the same standards.”

Jim Nasi is one of the country’s most respected custom builders. The addition of his line of products to the Drag FatBook is a win-win for everyone involved.

Matt Hotch is the reigning “Champion of the Biker Build-Off,” a made-for-television competition on The Discovery Channel.

otMatch Custom Cycles opened for business in 1997, but owner Matt Hotch had been building customs and creating parts long before then. In fact, Hotch has been deeply involved in his art since his junior high school days when he began customizing his bicycles and later creating hot rod VW’s. His buddies started calling him Hot Match while he was still in high school. When he got his hands on his first motorcycle, it was a union of artist and canvas, or better, sculptor and marble.
From the beginning Matt saw motorcycles as mechanical beings with clean lines and he could envision their geometric perfection in his head. He founds ways to hide the “clutter” on most machines created by all the cables and wiring. He hid the cables and wires inside the handlebar and frame to reveal the true clean lines of each bike. And when a part didn’t look, fit, or work quite right, he fabricated his own.
Today, HotMatch Custom Cycles is a thriving business with top-notch facilities for the creation and fabrication of amazing custom motorcycles and custom parts. But the core principal is still the same. A HotMatch motto is “Quality is not expensive, it’s priceless!”
Following that philosophy, HotMatch Custom Cycles continues to raise the bar for quality, detail, and excellence in the custom motorcycle industry. A stated goal of HotMatch Custom Cycles is “to develop new products that help give that one-off custom look. We are pleased to make our line of custom parts available to builders of all levels, from the person who is building their first bike in the garage to the master builder who is assembling a custom show bike for a customer.”
The commitment to quality is paramount at HotMatch Custom Cycles. When you purchase a HotMatch product you are actually getting something that Matt has designed himself, used on his own projects and determined that others builders would benefit from the design. Only then will HotMatch release a new custom part. That’s also one of the aspects HotMatch enjoys about being part of Drag Specialties. “Commitment to quality is what Drag is all about for us,” says HotMatch. “Drag is very picky, they’re not just another catalog that will put anything and everything in it. They want only the best, so when we produce a new custom part for them it’s like getting audited, but in a good way. We know that if it’s good enough for Drag then it’s good for the market.” HotMatch Custom Cycles has been better then good enough for Drag for many years now.
Recently HotMatch Custom Cycles and Matt himself have gained a large mainstream following through exposure on Discovery Channel’s “Great Biker Build-Off.” The exposure has been awesome, but the rules of engagement (build a show winning custom in less then a month) go against Matt’s belief in taking the time to build every bike to perfection. Despite the required quick turn-around, HotMatch is the reigning Champion of the “Biker Build-Off”, winning the 2004 Best of Show title.
From his humble beginnings in his garage in Yorba Linda, California, Matt Hotch has pursued what likes to call “the art of perfection”. Today all HotMatch products are designed and manufactured with “the art of perfection” as a guiding principal so that HotMatch can deliver to their clients the finest custom motorcycles and custom parts available. A big part of the Drag Specialties family for many years now, HotMatch Custom Cycles are proud to be a top choice for builders and enthusiasts worldwide.
