often it’s a plain pair of jeans a rider chooses when it’s
time to go cruising. That’s understandable. Blue jeans are familiar,
they’re usually pretty comfortable and jeans have been the Harley
rider’s choice for decades. So how do you convince someone to try
something better, a pair of pants actually designed for riding? Show
them this trio from Icon, that’s how, the Super Duty, Recon and
Barrier.These riding jeans have the look Harley riders want – and plenty more. Although they have that familiar old appearance, these pants were designed from the get-go for motorcycling. First of all, that waxed cotton is water resistant. These pants are all-weather usable. And unlike regular jeans, and even those Carhardts, the Super Duty includes abrasion-resistant reinforced knees. A layer of stretch Kevlar is sandwiched beneath that outer material so it’s completely invisible, and for rider comfort there’s a soft cotton lining shielding that stretch-Kevlar from direct contact with the rider’s skin. All the Super Duty’s pockets have snap closures, and there are side cinch-straps for comfort adjustments. Looking for classic jeans with all those rider-friendly features? Take a look at the Barrier Pants. As comfortable as any favorite pair of jeans, the Barriers combine all that with innovative features for motorcycling. And they’re great for cool weather riding. The Barrier Pants are sewn up from sturdy 14-oz. denim and they’re fully lined with a top quality insulation/wind-stopping material. That same Super Duty-style reinforced and Kevlar-protected knee is here, too. Best of all, Barrier jeans are cut and styled to make an on-the-bike riding position comfortable. The Recon puts all that into a warm-weather pair of riding jeans. That same tough 14-oz. denim is here, and so are articulated stretch panels and a vented crotch to provide real comfort and cooling. The Recon has a fashionably loose fit, too, great for casual wear. Those Kevlar-protected knees are here as well, and the Recon, just like the Barrier, is available in classic blue or black. The retail, also like the Barrier, is under $80. Plain jeans might have got it done in the past, but show your Harley-riding customers this trio from Icon and they’ll change their minds fast.
