now you’ve probably heard about the 5-Amp Portable Power Tender® Plus.
It’s Deltran’s latest charger/maintenance unit and the new
workhorse in the Battery Tender lineup. Harley-Davidson’s sure
heard about it. The Motor Company thinks enough of this new piece of
equipment to give the Portable Power Tender® Plus factory-endorsement.
It’s recommended one for every work station in every dealership,
and for good reason. The Portable Power Tender® Plus reduces charging
time by two-thirds. It’ll bring a fully discharged battery back
up to full charge in no time at all. That 5-Amp output will maintain
a full battery charge during long sessions of extensive diagnostic testing,
too. It’s a great shop tool. More than that it’s a great
battery charger/maintenance station, period. This one has the muscle
to charge and maintain car batteries, truck batteries, boat batteries,
whatever’s around. The 5-Amp Portable Power Tender® Plus does
it all, and with a suggested retail of $129.95 it’s priced right.Still, some riders might not need that much charger. For plenty of the Harley faithful a small and inexpensive unit, something that might even plug into a wall socket, could be all they need. Deltran’s got that, too. The Battery Tender lineup runs the gamut, starting with that small and inexpensive plug-in unit - the $39.95 Battery Tender Jr., then steps up to the Battery Tender Waterproof 800 at just $49.95, and of course there’s that most familiar unit of all, the original Battery Tender Plus. A fully automatic 1.25 Amp four-step charging/maintenance system, it features temperature compensation, a 72-hour safety timer, spark-proof and reverse-polarity protected circuitry, and the Plus sells for just $59.95 and includes a 10-year warranty. Don’t short-change those smaller units. They’re great sellers, and as good as that 5-Amp Portable Power Tender® Plus and the original 1.25 Amp Battery Tender Plus are, the Battery Tender Jr. and the Waterproof 800 have their place, too. The Junior’s 750mA three-step charging/maintenance circuit is fully automatic, and this charger works on all maintenance-free, AGM or flooded lead-acid batteries. It comes with a 12-foot output cord so it’s easy to plug-in and use, and there’s an optional 25-foot extension cord available. The Jr. even has a full 5-year warranty, a nice selling point. And Deltran’s Waterproof 800 is a great choice for riders who might have to keep their machines outside, maybe under a carport or a shed. This one is totally waterproof, and as the name implies it features an 800mA completely automatic charging rate. There isn’t a street rider who doesn’t need a battery charger/battery maintenance unit in his garage, and with Deltran’s lineup you’ll have the right one for every need and budget.
