Production is non-stop. These pipes have already been bent to shape and await final welding and fabrication.
t the beginning of the Model T’s run,” Kenny Samson likes to say, “A car cost more than $800. By 1927 and the last of the Model Ts Ford was making a better car, making it faster, more efficiently and the price had dropped to just $245. That’s what we’ve done around here. Our pipes are better than ever, they’re more efficient, and we’re more efficient at making them. All that’s reflected in the price. That’s what happens when you manufacture smart, manufacture with better methods.”
Samson designs, manufactures and ships more styles of custom exhausts for Harley-Davidsons than anyone else in the field. The Shogun Warlords lineup has expanded that leadership into the metric-cruiser market, and the new Caliber brand exhaust is the industry’s first four-step performance system. All those exhausts are made completely in-house, too, right inside Samson’s state-of-the-art 80,000 square foot facility in Anaheim, California. Samson’s constantly searching for ways to improve its already award-winning systems, too, ways to make them quicker than ever and more efficiently than ever, thereby offsetting many of the routine costs of business and keep consumer prices from shooting through the roof. All that’s great for you and your customers.
All those exhausts are always available, too. Whether it’s the classic Samsons for a Harley-Davidson, or one of the many Shogun Warlord metric-bike styles, or even a set of those performance Calibers you can count on them being in stock at Parts Unlimited / Drag Specialties, no waiting. Samson supplies more than 200 different part numbers for the Harley market alone, and the fill rate is nearly 98 percent. When you want it you have it, and that’s the difference between closing a sale or not.
So take a long look at Samson/Shogun/Caliber. Look in the catalogs, look at the bikes out on the street, and look right here. Contact your Drag Specialties rep for more details.

Samson/Shogun/Caliber pipes are custom-formed on modern computer-controlled mandrel bending equipment. There are nine of these stations in the Anaheim, CA, plant ensuring that each system is perfectly shaped and a perfect fit for its application.

State-of-the-art packing machines cradle every new system in its own form-fit foam packaging. When a customer opens that box the pipes inside are as perfect as the day they were made — no nicks, dings or dents. That foam packaging is lots neater, too.

Not only do the pipes have to look good, they have to perform as good as they look. All new styles are extensively dyno-tested before going into production. Prototype exhausts are street-tested, as well, ensuring that all mounts and brackets are even stronger than they need be.

Samson/Shogun/Caliber does all its own chroming. A special Hexavalent process is used, developed just for motorcycle exhausts. Plating on the pipes and heat shields is show-quality and highly resistant to any heat blemishes.

Samson/Shogun/Caliber pipes are ready when you and your customer call for them. The fill-rate at the Parts Unlimited/Drag Specialties warehouses is nearly 100 percent. No back-orders mean no lost sales.
