mart riders know what they should be wearing every time they take to the streets, but who’s going to suit-up in full leathers every time they hop in the saddle? A pair of jeans and, if it’s warm, a light riding jacket is the norm. Hardly a close second choice.
Leave it to Icon to even the odds. Icon’s brand-new Field Armor is made to be worn under those everyday riding clothes, and the Field Armor Shorts, Vests and Leg Guards add a degree of protection heretofore unavailable anywhere else. All that protective Field Armor is lightweight, all-day comfortable, and fits so snugly no one will know you’re wearing it. Have an unexpected meeting with the macadam, though, and you’ll be glad it’s there.

The lightweight Field Armor Vest is another must-have for any street rider. Designed to fit comfortably under a shirt or jacket, the Field Armor Vest protects the upper body and torso in the event of a crash.

Start with the Field Armor Shorts. They’re made of super-tough Stretch Aramid, cut and shaped like a close-fitting pair of bicycle shorts. There’s a breathable crotch and a pre-curved shape to keep them comfortable, and they’re expressly designed to be worn under whatever pants a rider might choose.

The Field Armor Leg Guards are an invaluable addition to the street rider’s wardrobe. Designed to stay in place even under extreme conditions, they can be strapped directly to the rider’s legs, or worn over jeans or pants.

Most often, of course, that’ll be a pair of regular jeans. Ever seen a pair of jeans after a street riding get-off? Not a pretty picture. Neither, for that matter, is the flesh underneath them. That’s where the Field Armor shorts come in. These Shorts start working the very second those jeans fail. That Stretch Aramid is highly abrasion resistant. It’ll take the abuse so a rider’s skin doesn’t. Retailing for just $80, the Field Armor Shorts are going to be hot sellers.

The super-tough Field Armor Shorts are designed to be worn under jeans or whatever other pants a rider might choose to wear. Made of breathable and comfortable Stretch Aramid, these shorts offer superb street-riding protection.

It’s the same deal with the Field Armor Vests. The Vests do for the torso and upper body what the Shorts do for the areas they cover and protect. Once again made of that tough, abrasion-resistant Stretch Aramid, the Field Armor Vests are lightweight and comfortable, and they’ll go completely unnoticed under a shirt or jacket. Priced at $100, the Field Armor Vest is destined to become another warm-weather favorite.
Rounding out this protective trio, the Field Armor Leg Guards extend the protection to the knees and shins. The Leg Guards are versatile, too; they can be strapped directly to the rider’s leg, under the jeans, or they can be worn over a regular pair of jeans, too. Either way they’re designed to stay in place, even in situations where other styles of leg guards would be twisted and turned out of position, exposing raw skin to the ravages of the road. Just like the Shorts and Vests, the Field Armor Leg Guards are so comfortable you’ll forget you’re wearing them. At $65 retail there’s real street-bike protection here.
Leave it to Icon to come up with all this. One of the more innovative companies in the business, Icon’s done it again, and of course Parts Unlimited carries it all.
