are a timeless custom look, and this time they’re also right in
step—pun intended—with the demands of modern-day performance.
Caliber’s just-released Over & Under exhaust is a four-stepped
system that not only looks great, it’s been tested and tuned
for optimal street performance, providing instant throttle response
and acceleration, eliminating flat spots, and can even improve fuel
mileage. The pipes sound off with a deep and throaty roar, too, always
a bonus.
Stepped-header exhausts are increasingly popular, for good reason. The
right spacing and sizing of the steps in a stepped-header can really
improve exhaust flow while providing just the right amount of back pressure
to create lots of torque. Caliber’s stepped-header pipes, starting
with a 1 3/4-inch diameter at the port, going up to 1 7/8-inch, then
2 inches and finishing with big 2 1/4-inch tubes are the industry’s
first true four-step header and they can really boost horsepower and
torque. And now that performance is matched with classic Over & Under
styling. It’s all neatly wrapped in bright and shiny 2 1/3-inch
full coverage chrome heat shields, full-circumference at the rear of
the pipes for even better looks. There are chromed and engraved billet
end caps, too.
Caliber step-header Over & Unders have a couple of baffles available
for them. One is designed to work best with stock-displacement/mildly
modified motors, another for big-bore/performance-built engines. As a
third option the Over & Unders can be run without any baffling at
all for a full, wide-open sound. The pipes are a simple bolt-on for all
the popular Harley-Davidson models. There are systems for Sportsters
from ’86 to the 2004 bikes, Dynas from 1986 to 2004 and 1986 to
2004 Softails. They’re all in stock now at all Drag Specialties
warehouses.
Now, as good looking as the Over & Unders are, some customers might
want step-headers with another look, and Caliber has that, too. Caliber
Drag Pipes serve up the same arm-stretching performance in a standard
drag-pipe look, and they’re available for all the Softails, Dynas
and Sportsters, as well. The Caliber 2-into-1 combines step-header technology
with the proven performance of a 2-into-1 design, and includes the patented
Varitech baffle which literally sucks exhaust out of the engine. It’s
an awesome exhaust. And for the Road Kings and dressers there’s
the Caliber True Dual step-header systems. All those pipes are in the
warehouse and immediately available, and like every Caliber pipe they
