Got attitude? Cop-cool and ready to go. Hope there’s more than one package of donuts, though, for those long rides.

hose FatBook “Bolt-On Customs” are starting to roll. A few months back the guys at Drag Specialties invited some of the country’s top builders to have some fun and show just what’s possible using nothing but bolt-on parts. In a regular blend of business and pleasure, Don Hotop, Dave Perewitz, Randy Aron, Tank Ewsichek and Tom Motzko each took a factory-stock Harley-Davidson and opened the FatBook to see just how they could make that bike a bunch cooler. Tank Ewsichek at Tuff Cycle in Aurora, Ohio, drew the short straw, getting a 2003 FLHTPI cop bike to work with, “and Harleys don’t come much bigger or uglier that that,” he says. In short order Tank proved they don’t have to stay that way, though. Take a look at “Got Donuts?,” arguably the coolest cop bike on duty.
Smoothed off and slammed down, Tank lightened up the whole look and attitude here. Up front he accomplished it by substituting a pair of Perse Performance Spherical Lower Legs for the OE parts, mounting an American Wire Wheel 100-spoker and grafting the tail half of a Fatboy’s rear fender onto the front half of the cop bike’s original front fender. Keeping that flow going, Tank slipped in a Memphis Shades 5-inch Gradient Black windshield and a Corbin Chin Grille. There’s a Flanders Flat Track Handlebar here, too, along with Ness Bagger Mirrors and Drag/Hotop Smooth Grips. Simple stuff, but making a big difference. “Lipstick and high heels,” is how Tank describes it.

Vance & Hines' Oval Slip-Ons add performance—and good looks.

The Corbin Chin Grill features a smooth, contoured shape that flows with the bike’s lines.

Corbin’s Classic Solo Saddle with a V-Rail is paired up with a Motherwell Luggage Rack.

Tank illuminates the highway with an Adjure 7” ICE Headlight fitted into a “Drag-en” Eye Headlight Accent Bar.

The bolt-on “clean” continues through the middle of the bike. Tank included a set of his own bagger-bike side panels and Drag/Tuff Cycle “Mini-Skirts” Floorboards. The saddlebags are OE cop-bike Harley, just stripped bare and made neat and tidy. A Motherwell Luggage Rack combines with a Corbin Solo Saddle with a V-Rail, and all that leads back to the “Blue-Light Special” cop light bringing up the rear. There are plenty of other little lights and lenses, too—check out the build sheet for all the details there.
And speaking about details, Tank didn’t miss many in this cop-bike make over. Diamond-cut heads and barrels add sparkle to the engine, Vance & Hines Oval Slip-Ons add oomph, style and tone, and plenty of Gray, White Snow Pearl and Majik Blue Pearl House Of Kolor paint, applied right at Tuff Cycle, brings the whole bike together. This is the coolest cop bike on the planet. Tank might have drawn the short straw getting that FLHTPI to work with, but you wouldn’t know it now. This is some transformation, and it all happened with bolt-ons straight from the FatBook.
There are a couple more of these specials nearing completion, a Softail, a Sportster, a Dyna and a V-Rod, so stay tuned. And take another good, long look through the FatBook. As Tank Ewsichek just demonstrated, the custom possibilities are endless and big changes can happen with simple bolt-ons. Grab a wrench and get to it!

Oval Slip-Ons come with an innovative rear muffler bracket that hides the attaching point under the saddlebag.

A potentially expensive accessory, if you’re a donut-lover.

Drag/Tuff Cycle "Mini Skirts" floorboards quickly give stock
floorboards a custom look.

Tank changed up the bike’s front with Perse Performance Spherical Lower Legs and a 100-spoke American Wire Wheel.

Yeah, but do you “Got Milk?”

A Memphis Shades’ 5-inch Gradient Black Shield gets some “hot” personalization.
The “Blue Light Special” cop light completes the “cop bike” theme.
