if you already have a couple Battery Tenders back in the shop you’re
going to want this newest one. Deltran’s 5-Amp Portable Power Tender® Plus
is a powerhouse. It’ll reduce charging time by two-thirds, bringing
a fully discharged battery to full charge in less than two hours. Harley-Davidson
thinks enough of this to name the Portable Power Tender® Plus a factory-endorsed
shop tool, recommending one for every work station in every dealership.
That 5-Amp output will not only totally charge the battery while a bike
is being serviced, it’ll maintain that full charge during extensive
diagnostic testing, too. This is a great shop tool.Don’t leave your customers out on all this, though. The 5-Amp Power Tender® Plus is reasonably priced for such a serious piece of equipment, and it’s probably the only battery charger/battery maintenance tool an enthusiast will ever need. It’s just coming in a much more powerful, faster and all-around more versatile package. Speaking of which, this charger won’t take up much shop space. The Portable Power Tender® Plus measures just 7.75 in. x 5.38 in. and it’s just 4.88 in. tall. It’s all packaged in a rugged and good-looking aluminum outer case, and there’s even a handy built-in compartment to hold the accessory leads so they’re always available for use. Those connector leads let you switch the Power Tender® Plus’ output level, too, choosing either the full 5-Amps or a lower 2.5 Amp charging rate should that be desired. A new three-pin connector that’s included makes the full 5 Amp output available; plugging into a two-pin Battery Tender Plus-style connector automatically dials the output down to 2.5 Amps. Both connector leads are available with standard clamp ends and ring-eye terminals that can be left on the battery. As an added bonus the Portable Power Tender® Plus works anywhere in the world, automatically switching itself between 100 or 240 VAC/50 or 60 Hz input. Harley-Davidson’s already recommending all of this to its dealers. You should do no less for your customers, not to mention yourself.
