The fixed mount mini-rocker switch and contactor are completely sealed against the environment.

ou don’t swat a fly with a sledgehammer. Sometimes a little less, and a little finesse, is all it takes to get a job done. Sometimes less really is more, and that’s sure true when it comes to ATV winches. Warn Industries knows it, too. A leader in the field since 1959 when they developed the first recreational winches, Warn quickly became a popular choice for off-road racers, four-wheeler adventurers, weekend campers and hard working ranchers. By the late ’80s Warn introduced the industry’s first ATV winch and was issued a patent for it in 1988. The Warn ATV winches, the 4.0ci, the 3.0ci and 2.5ci, are now just about industry standards. With 4,000-, 3,000- and 2,500-pounds pulling power, respectively, they’re do-it-all-tough award winners—and as good as they are there are times when they’re just too good for the job, more winch than might be wanted or needed.
Now take a look at the brand-new and just-introduced Warn 1.5ci. Compact and budget-priced, the 1.5ci is a great entry-level winch for lightweight ATVs and sport bikes. Check that. For lots of guys the Warn 1.5ci, with its 1,500 pounds of pulling power, isn’t just “entry level,” it’s all the winch they’ll ever need. And as small and light as this new winch is it’s no toy, either. It’s a genuine Warn.
The 1.5ci’s super-efficient 12 V. motor (rated at .04 HP) and 3-stage planetary gear train deliver that 1,500 pounds of pulling power with minimal amp draw. This lightweight and compact powerhouse comes with all the familiar Warn features, too. There’s a mechanical brake, an all-weather contactor, that 3-stage planetary gear train, a freespooling clutch and Hawse-style fairlead. It’s a lot of winch that just happens to come in a little package, and that’s the idea. A handlebar-mounted mini rocker switch is included, and so is 50-feet of 5/32-inch cable wound onto a 1.5- x 3.0-inch drum. The whole works weighs in at just 11.5 pounds, and with the same footprint as the other Warn winches it’ll mount on all Warn ATV winch mounts.
Sure, there will be jobs that will stump the 1.5ci. That’s why Warn has all those other ATV winches—clear up to 4,000 pounds of pulling power. But we’ll bet that more often than not the new Warn 1.5ci, this diminutive dynamo, will be all that’s needed, thank you. Or wanted. Whether it’s pulling a buddy out of a mud pit, clearing some logs or rocks off the trail, or even pulling a broken ATV back up onto the truck or trailer for the ride home the Warn 1.5ci is going to be there to get it done. Effortlessly, and at a price that’s tough to beat. The Warn 1.5ci is destined to be a great seller. Put a couple on the shelf and see for yourself. Parts Unlimited already has them in stock.

Warn’s 1.5ci’s compact design makes it the perfect winch for lightweight ATVs and sport bikes.
