oday’s motocross racers have many apparel options in the marketplace but many brands make them choose between fashion and protection. Fortunately Moose Racing’s XCR line has provided both in spades and the introduction of its new XCR Shield continues the tradition.
Redefining all standards, the XCR Shield was engineered to meet the rising demands of off-road racing.
“We felt the need to update our current protector, but rather than just making modifications to the current design, we built the XCR Shield from the ground up,” says Moose Racing Brand Manager Brad Kruckenberg. “By doing this, we incorporated the latest technology, features and materials to create a product that will stand up to the demands our world class racers will put it through, at the same time providing the function that our customers have come to expect from XCR and Moose.”
Constructed from the finest injection-molded polycarbonate, the unique frame on the XCR shield will block serious roost while deflecting, rather than creasing or breaking under high bending loads or impacts. Scientifically designed reinforcing ridges maximize strength while minimizing weight for racers who want the lightest equipment possible without sacrificing protection. Injection-molded suspension-style polyurethane shoulders absorb hard falls without adding excessive weight.
The comfort of the XCR Shield is just as impressive as its protection. A plush compression molded closed-cell bio-foam interior puts ergonomically engineered padding exactly where it’s needed most. Internal ventilation channels are actually molded right into the foam. Ventilation slots in the front and back also help keep the rider cool while preserving the Shield’s structural integrity. Additionally, the shoulder straps are three-way adjustable at each corner for virtually custom sizing.
One of the most unique features of the XCR Shield is the specially designed domed back that fits over many popular drink systems. Now even motocross racers can enjoy the benefits of mid-race hydration.
Detailing is also impressive with lightweight aluminum tapered Allen bolts, streamlined buckles, detachable bicep guards and even a spare bolts kit. For enhanced durability, pliable rubber connections between segments are twice as thick as many competitive products to prevent ripping.
Extensively tested in both the lab and the field by Moose Racing’s pro racers, the XCR Shield is durable enough for tough motocross use but versatile enough for off-road
riding. With a $119.95 suggested retail price, the state-of-the-art XCR Shield is also a tremendous bargain for those who are not willing to compromise on quality, but still appreciate solid value. Call your Parts Unlimited rep today!
