y now you’re well aware of what a Power Commander can do for a motorcycle. With a Dynojet Power Commander calling the shots, literally, the precise timing and delivery of the fuel can quickly and easily have an injected bike running better, cleaner and stronger than the day it left the factory. And if any performance changes have been made to that bike, like a free-flowing air filter and exhaust, a Power Commander becomes mandatory equipment.
But this you already know, and if you’re like most savvy shops you’re doing a pretty good business with all of the above, selling Power Commanders, installing them and tuning bikes with them. Now get ready to do all of that with your ATV customers, at least the ones riding the newest EFI machines. Hardly resting on its laurels with the success of those motorcycle-application Power Commanders, Dynojet is constantly back in the lab developing the product line, and the latest piece making its way to your counter is the brand-new Power Commander III USB for the Polaris Sportsman 700 Twin ATV.
This newest Power Commander comes with everything you expect from a Power Commander. All the familiar features are here, and just like every other Dynojet Power Commander, OE-style connectors are used so there’s no splicing or cutting of the stock harness required for a clean installation. The Polaris Power Commander snaps right in place. The unit comes complete with all of the software and cable links you need to switch between different maps or make adjustments to an existing map file, and that USB port provides an instant, no-hassle, lightning-fast connection to today’s newest computers.
The Polaris Power Commander III USB comes loaded with plenty of other useful features, too. These new Power Commanders instantly and automatically connect to the Power Commander Control Center software once it’s installed in your laptop. Simply power-up the unit and connect the PCIII to the USB port with those supplied cables and you’re up and running. There’s an automatic map retrieval function, too; as soon as you connect the PCIII USB to the computer and launch the software the current map installed in the PCIII USB will be displayed. Making things even easier, the software now includes onboard note storage. The PCIII USB stores any special tuning notations you might have made regarding that particular map right in the onboard memory so there’s no mistake as to exactly which map you have loaded and how you need to set things up. Those notes, just like the map itself, are automatically retrieved upon connection.
The PCIII USB software now allows you to compare a couple of map files without the Power Commander itself even connected, too. There’s a numerical display as well as a brand-new graphic display, and a 9-Volt “Power Up” adapter supplied with every PCIII USB lets you interface with and program the Power Commander right at your desktop. You can have everything set and ready to go before you even hook up to the bike—and now the ATV.

And there’s more. All PCIII USBs, including the new Polaris model, now have a “cylinder trim” adjustment, a feature allowing you to offset fuel delivery and timing to one or more cylinders. For advanced users the PCIII USB even allows individual cylinder mapping; for truly precise tuning each cylinder can be separately mapped throughout the entire rpm/throttle range. How’s that for tuning possibilities?
There’s an easier to use button adjustment mode now, too. PCIII USBs feature a “startup delay” which gives you plenty of time to start the engine and then switch to the PCIII USB’s external button-adjust mode. The tuning ranges of those buttons are now displayed right in the software, too. Simply connecting the unit to the computer and pressing one of the buttons triggers the tuning ranges to pop up on the screen. No more guessing. There’s even an open Expansion Port available to accept future Dynojet upgrades and upcoming accessories—things like a new ignition module due out soon. A PCIII USB can be kept right up-to-date.

And speaking of staying up-to-date, remember that Dynojet is constantly developing new fuel maps to take into account all of the popular aftermarket exhaust systems that might be fit, the free-flowing air filters, and plenty of other tuning combinations a rider might come up with. A collection of current maps is supplied with the CD-ROM software packed in the box, and they’re also available—along with new, updated maps—online at www.powercommander.com.
And all of this is now designed, developed, ready and waiting for the Polaris Sportsman 700 Twin. Parts Unlimited has it in stock right now, and your EFI-equipped ATV riders are waiting.

The Power Commander III USB also comes with “startup delay” that gives users plenty of time to start the engine and switch to the external button-adjust mode.
