     It’s output power is easily switchable, too. The Portable Power Tender® Plus features a unique (and patent-pending) dual power-level output that lets you easily switch between its full 5 amp power and a lower 2.5 amp charging rate. It’s done by swapping the accessory lead that connects the charger to the battery. Using the new 3-pin connectors that are included makes the full 5 amp output available; plugging into 2-pin connectors offered as optional accessories automatically dials the output down to 2.5 amp should that lower charging rate be needed. A couple styles of those 2- or 3-pin leads connect the Portable Power Tender® Plus to the battery—standard clamp ends and ring-eye connectors that can be left right in place on the battery terminals.
     All of this comes in a tidy, well-thought-out package. The Portable Power Tender® Plus measures just 7.75 in. x 5.38 in. and it’s just 4.88 in. tall. It’s a ruggedly built, good looking unit, too—there’s even a handy compartment in the case to hold those accessory leads so they’re always with the charger and available for use.
