Dollar-for-dollar, the Metro is hard to beat.

ou’re
not going to believe how well you’ll do—sales-wise—with
the new Metro helmet. Pegged by Z1R as a “scooter” helmet,
in just a very short while the Metro has found a much wider audience.
Much wider.

Originally a “scooter” helmet, Z1R’s Metro
helmet has developed a much wider following.
Debuted at this year’s Indianapolis
Expo, the Metro showed its broad appeal almost immediately. Even though
it was initially designated as a scooter helmet, don’t let that
description fool you. This is a great all-purpose helmet, period. Passengers
love it, women like it because they’re not closed in with a full-faced
helmet, touring riders love it, ATV people love it, and so do trail
riders. Especially trail-riding families. The Metro’s flip-up
front shield makes this helmet extra appealing here; trail-side conversations
are easy, and the Metro even allows a rider to stop for a moment and
have a cold drink without having to first remove his or her helmet.
The Metro’s right at home in the deep woods, too. Hunters love
it.
And of course there’s that original
market, the scooter crowd. This is the riding group the Metro was designed
for in the first place, and understandably it’s a huge winner
here. Scooter riders demand a look all their own, not unlike Harley-Davidson
riders, and not unlike touring riders. It’s the “urban”
look, the “Metro” look, and it’s definitely all here.
But whatever the riding segment it ends
up in, the Metro will go there in any one of four colors, and three
of those colors are done in Ruba-tone, a new-age rubberized paint. Ruba-tone
doesn’t scratch as easily, and it doesn’t fingerprint at
all. Mild soap and water is all it takes to keep the Metro looking brand-new.
That Ruba-tone finish is available in vibrant Yellow, Blue and Black,
colors perfectly matched to many of the scooters, bikes and ATVs on
the market, too. The Metro’s also offered in a silver-metallic
gloss. Sizes range from Extra Small to Extra Large, and because it’s
a Z1R helmet the Metro features that great North American head form
used throughout the Z1R helmet line. It’s a helmet shell with
more of a long/oval shape, and as such it’s much more comfortable
for many more riders. There’s no pinching or pressure at the forehead.
It’s a level of fit not normally found on helmets in this price
range.
And speaking about that price, dollar-for-dollar
the Metros are tough to beat. The Ruba-tone finish helmets retail for
just $72.95, and the silver gloss model is only $69.95. Put some out
on the shelf, even if you don’t have a single scooter on the floor.
The Metro, as you’ll soon discover, is a “scooter”
helmet without boundaries, and it’s in the Parts Unlimited warehouse
