was an amazing experience—and this year offered up some great riding weather and some outstanding racing, especially for our Thor guys.
You’ve been seeing Thor up on the podium a lot lately, and we couldn’t be more proud. There’s Chad Reed winning seven of the 10 Supercross events to date (go to page 54 for a complete look at the Supercross series thus far). And, based on his strong showing on the more outdoor-oriented track in Daytona, he also looks to be a serious threat when the outdoor National season rolls around.
Mitch Payton’s Pro Circuit racers have been turning in some outstanding results, especially Ivan “Hot Sauce” Tedesco, who has taken home the hardware in five of the last six West Coast events (to date). His teammate and fellow Thor rider, Stephane Roncada, is currently holding down third in that series.
Speaking of Daytona, how about the amazing performance turned in by our newest Thor Team rider, Travis Pastrana? Out of racing for a year, and this kid comes back and knocks off Factory Honda’s Kevin Windham in a heads-up heat race! He runs up front in the main event until his body “runs out of gas”—this guy is incredible.
You can find out more about Reed, Tedesco, Roncada and Pastrana at www.thormx.com, where we keep complete bios of all of the Thor riders, along with lots of information about our complete line of Thor gear. Which leads me to my other important news: the debut of the “Distortion” SVR Helmet. This one’s a limited edition, and it’s really trick.
We’ve taken our top-of-the-line SVR helmet and added some very wild, hand-drawn, hand-applied monster graphics for a stop-them-in-their-tracks style that today’s off-road riders are looking for. We think that the Distortion is the perfect combination of features and style—and likely to fly off your shelves. Keep in mind that it is a limited edition, so be sure to get your orders in right away.
There’s also our new Static Gear, which should be popular because it’s designed for comfortable riding in all terrain. From the zip-off Freeride Pant with ballistic nylon inner leg panels to the V-neck raglan-style jersey, the new Static Gear offers the detailing and style that riders want—and need. And our Hot Wheels gear, designed for the youth market but also sized for adults, is a hot commodity, if you’ll pardon the pun. Check it all out on page 46.
Hope to see you soon at one of the remaining Supercross Showcase events or in the pits at an upcoming Outdoor National Motocross!
