say that Bridgestone riders are having a great time in the 2004 AMA
Supercross series hardly tells the story. When Bridgestone swept the
250 class in Atlanta on February 28th, that made it nine consecutive
1-2-3 finishes for Bridgestone riders. Bridgestone actually did better
than that in Atlanta, taking the top six places with Chad Reed, Kevin
Windham and Mike LaRocco leading the way. As of February 28, Chad Reed
(Factory Yamaha) was the championship leader with 216 points to his
credit, followed by Kevin Windham (Factory Connection/Honda) at 190
points, David Vuillemin (Factory Yamaha) at 170 points. Mike LaRocco
(Factory Connection/Honda) was fourth at 177 points and Michael Byrne
( Factory Kawasaki) fifth with 121 points. The top five in points, all
riding on Bridgestone tires.
In the 125 class, Bridgestone is also
clearly the tire to have. At the Atlanta event, James Stewart on his
Kawasaki took the lead in the first lap and never looked back. This
was the third consecutive victory for Stewart, who led the East Coast
Championship after Atlanta. Ivan Tedesco and his Pro-Circuit/Kawasaki,
have five victories and lead the West Coast Championship points race.
That’s some kind of winning performance!
Bob Graham, Manager of Bridgestone Motorcycle
and Kart programs, says, “Our technology in off-road competition
tire development is extremely advanced. It is a credit to the cooperation
between our technical staff and the riders that we continue to develop
off-road tires that can take the abuse, perform well and consistently
produce winning results.”
Bridgestone is also very pleased to be
able to offer the new M201 and M202 mini sizes, available in April of
2004, including the new M401/M402 combination of 12-inch front and 10-inch
rear for 50cc racers. “Our goal,” says Graham, “is
to make sure we are fully supporting our dealers with tires that will
sell across the board. Our record proves that we manufacture tires that
win championships, year after year.”
It all starts with the first set, though, and that’s where you
come in. Parts Unlimited has all those winning Bridgestone tires in
stock, and availability is never a problem. So check with your Parts
Unlimited rep about stocking the first name in off-road tires—Bridgestone.

Bridgestone’s M201 and M202 mini sizes are now available.
