MF, an industry leader, has always been an innovator and 2003 was no exception. Now, as we begin a new year, FMF is pleased to introduce a variety of leading edge, high quality products in its 2004 lineup.

FMF has expanded its Q line of quiet performance exhausts to include an application for Honda’s newest play bikes, the CRF 150 & CRF 230

Mini-Motos
Due to popular request, as well as the recent increase in more stringent sound standards in many riding areas, FMF has expanded its Q line of quiet performance exhausts. The lineup now includes an application for Honda’s newest play bikes, the CRF 150 & CRF 230. The new Q joins the already-existing FMF products available for the little CRFs, such as the Powercore 4 S/A. Best of all, the new Q and the Powercore 4 S/A fit both the 150 and 230 models.

These new exhausts bring even more value to FMF’s burgeoning applications for today’s hottest new market segment of mini 2- and 4-stroke playbikes or “mini-motos.” FMF offers a comprehensive lineup for this segment, ranging from PW50s to XR70s to Predator 90s just to name a few. Plus, many applications are available in open “moto style” or forestry-approved Spark arrestor versions.

Factory 4 Exhaust System
With 4-strokes becoming more and more popular, FMF decided it was time to release a premier exhaust system. The new Factory 4 exhaust system brings some new concepts into the marketplace including some technologies FMF developed while designing their street exhausts.

FMF’s premier four-stroke exhaust system, the Factory 4, was developed while FMF was designing its street exhausts.

The Factory 4 muffler utilizes FMF’s oval to round construction using military-grade titanium and is offered in either a natural or an anodized blue finish. Leading into the muffler is a formed tapered inlet. The oval shape combined with the tapered inlet allows the muffler to be routed further forward without interfering with the rear of the bike and subframe. This lowers and centralizes the machine’s center of gravity, which improves handling without sacrificing silencer volume and durability. Its shorter length is less susceptible to damage too.

Preceding the muffler is a Powerbomb titanium header and titanium mid-pipe for optimum fit and strength. The big-bore 450cc and up motors get the new “Factory Forward” Powerbomb titanium header to further centralize the weight with the optimum tuned length. Also new is FMF’s modular exhaust port flange, which offers a better seal, transmits less vibration and puts less tension on the exhaust system.
Included at no charge is FMF’s Power-Up jet kit for optimum tuning and “remove before flight” wash plug.

Titanium 4 SL
FMF’s new Titanium 4 SL is a slip-on muffler system in titanium or stainless with corresponding price points, derived from and utilizing all of FMF’s Factory 4 technology but utilizing the stock header. The Titanium 4 full racing exhaust system gives riders the huge weight savings of titanium while also offering performance traits that have been gleaned from FMF’s associations with various factory motocross teams.

The titanium Powercore S offers up to a 62 percent weight savings (compared to an OE

The Titanium 4 is fully tunable with modular end caps that allow for easy changes and that let the tuner/racer effortlessly shape the powerband of his/her machine. Three modular end caps are available—the standard Hi-Flo 2-inch, 1 3/4-inch and 1 1/2-inch end caps for traction control and a spark arrestor module for forest-legal applications. The three-piece design features a titanium (or stainless steel) header system, a titanium (or stainless steel) mid-pipe and the Titanium-4 muffler itself. With the various headers offered, FMF gives racers the option of four totally different header systems, all with different price points. There is the standard Hi-Flo header offered in both titanium and stainless steel construction, which is joined by the patented Powerbomb header (also offered in both titanium and stainless steel construction).

Thousands of hours of both track and dyno time have been spent tuning the Titanium-4’s power delivery. Power gains have been averaging out at just under 20 percent and the weight savings is huge! In most cases the Ti-4 is 50 percent lighter than stock!
The Titanium 4 Muffler is offered in two lengths. The standard 14-inch unit offers the greatest power gains at the expense of a louder sound level. The longer 17-inch unit has a bit less peak power, trading it for increased low-end throttle response and a more respectable sound reduction level.

Powercore S
FMF has enhanced its 2004 line of performance street exhausts with the highly successful Powercore S. The Powercore S is offered in aluminum or titanium in expanded applications for 2004.

909
Beginning with and continuing through the upcoming 2004 season you’ll notice very distinct changes regarding FMF’s 909 lineup of products, including enhanced product offerings, new anodized color bars and new apparel. Additionally, the 909 line will feature a dedicated “stand-alone” 909 brand management approach, including advertising, personnel, sponsorship and marketing. The 909 line also will have an enhanced “stand-alone” website and event presence.

FMF’s 2004 909 lineup includes enhanced product offerings, new anodized color bars and new apparel.

Take the 909 line of handlebars, for example. Danny LaPorte has been working with a new supplier for these bars since mid-season last year, and the finished products speak for themselves. The 7075 bars are manufactured using aluminum tubing that is formed then shot peened and heat-treated for strength. The bars also feature a 5mm wall thickness where it is needed most. The crossbar and claps are extruded and machined for precise fit, and a crossbar pad is included. The 909 line also features laser-etched positioning guides and a 909 logo for a durable, high quality look. Knurling on the clutch side helps prevent “grip slip.” New offerings for 2004 include XR50s, mini, freestyle and OEM replica bends.

The 909 BFB bars use Easton’s aluminum technology to produce a handlebar that is constructed from 7075 T-6 Cold Forged aluminum. Its taper wall design provides superior strength without the use of a crossbar. Riders also get a clamping surface that is improved thanks to the oversized 1 1/8-inch center section that also reduces bending from crashes. The elimination of the crossbar also increases impact absorption, thus reducing arm pump and rider fatigue.

The Powercore S has applications for sportbikes as well as popular rides such as the Suzuki SV650 and Bandit.

FMF has it all, great products for the off-road, motocross, ATV or street enthusiast, all with the quality, fit and finish you’ve come to expect from FMF. Contact your Parts Rep to stock up on all these great products from FMF and 909 today.
