ou’ll find there’s some disagreement among historians regarding who invented the motorcycle, and where. But there’s no disputing which country makes the most exciting, the most thrilling, and yes, the sexiest motorcycles—Italy. Nowhere else does the passion for speed jump like a spark from the mind of the designer to the finished product. And nowhere is that spark more evident than in the AGV line of helmets, including the XR-2, the V-Flyer and the Daystar.

XR-2

The XR-2 Limited Edition is a replica of the helmet Valentino
Rossi wore at the Mugello Moto GP in 2002.

Designed for the racetrack or twisty backroads, the XR-2 has a number of
features that make it a comfortable choice for a wide range of riding.

The XR-2 also comes in three Rossi graphic models, which retail for $499.95.

The XR-2 is equally at home on the racetrack or twisty backroads. Its shell is made of a leading-edge carbon-Kevlar composite. Unlike some helmets that make do with a single shell for all available sizes, there are two different XR-2 shells for a no-compromise fit in any size. The exclusive X-Vent system not only lets cool air into the helmet, but extracts it to keep the flow moving. The unique shell shape not only adds to the styling of today’s modern racer but it also provides stability for the rider’s head, making for a less tiresome ride. The hygienically treated comfort liner, which provides multiple fit options, is removable and washable, and the honeycombed DuPont Cool Max lining provides maximum absorption of perspiration and improved air circulation.
The XR-2’s flat race shield protects the rider from harmful UV rays, and is covered with a highly scratch-resistant coating. It attaches with a quick-release system that allows you to change the shield without tools in seconds, and comes with mounting pegs for tear-offs. AGV’s No Fog Shield coating keeps the inside of the shield clear, too.

The XR-2 comes in three graphics of Black/Silver/Gunmetal, Blue/Silver/Gunmetal and Red/Silver/Gunmetal for $474.95. There are also three Rossi graphic models, the Rossi Moto GP and the Rossi 500, which carry a suggested retail of $499.95, and the Rossi Limited Edition, priced at $549.95.

The Limited Edition is a replica of the helmet Valentino Rossi wore at the Mugello Moto GP in 2002, and features a unique paint job in honor of his father and the helmet that he wore during his own racing career. The 22 icons circling the bottom of the helmet represent Rossi’s unique sense of humor. Only 500 Rossi Limited Edition helmets will be imported into the U.S., and each comes with a signed letter from Rossi himself.

Priced well below other manufacturers’ limited-edition helmets, the Rossi Limited Edition is sure to become a collector’s item. The V-Flyer features an aerodynamic shell that’s made from unidirectional advanced composite fibers and comes in two sizes for the best fit. The shell’s X-Vent system combines vents to let cooling air in with extractors to pull hot air out. A removable and washable inner liner helps keep the V-Flyer fresh. The flat face shield is scratch-resistant and 100-percent UV-resistant, comes with an anti-fog treatment, and can be replaced in seconds without tools.

V-Flyer

The V-Flyer comes in five solid colors and three graphics packages
as well as this special edition Americana version. AGV’s V-Flyer features an X-Vent ventilation system and flat face shield that is scratch-resistant and UV-resistant.

For 2004 the V-Flyer comes in all-new graphics and colors. Graphics include the Air, Comp and Slide, as well as the V-Flyer Special Edition Americana. Solid colors include Silver, Black, Yellow, Red, and Gunmetal. Suggested retails for the graphics models are $349.95, $329.95 for solid colors and $369.95 for the special edition Americana.

Daystar

AGV’s Daystar offers high-end features at a dramatically affordable price.

Last but by no means least is the Daystar, a helmet that combines the high-end features of more expensive helmets with a price that won’t redline your customers’ checkbooks. The Daystar’s shell uses unidirectional construction and comes in two sizes for a better fit over the entire range of sizes. It has the same dynamic flow vents and extractors as the XR-2 and the V-Flyer, as well as a hygienically treated washable and removable liner, and an anti-fog and anti-scratch flat face shield with tool-less removal.

The Daystar comes in solid colors—Black, Silver, Red and Yellow—for a suggested retail of $269.95, and three color combinations—Black/Silver/Gunmetal, Blue/Silver/Gunmetal and Red/Silver/Gunmetal—for $289.95.

All three of these great AGV helmets meet DOT and Snell 2000 specifications, and come in sizes S-XXL . Each one also comes with AGV’s passion for quality and performance built right in.
