uying performance parts for V-twins is like eating potato chips—it’s hard to stop after just one. But there’s a point of diminishing return, where you’re bolting more and more expensive parts onto an engine that wasn’t designed to put out that much power. That’s why so many riders are forgoing the add-on route to high-performance and skipping right to buying a complete engine. And when it comes to complete engines for V-twins, Patrick Racing is an exceptional resource.
Patrick Racing first opened the shop doors in 1984. With more than 25 years of experience in four-stroke design and engine development, Nigel Patrick recognized the V-twin market as one in which he could use his talents. At first working mainly on racing engines and cylinder heads, Patrick soon realized the Harley-Davidson market was limited in terms of quality aftermarket and performance products. That prompted him to develop his first set of billet cylinder heads for Harley enthusiasts. This first effort was so widely embraced by the riding public that Patrick Racing began making complete engines.
Today Patrick Racing manufactures its own billet heads and cylinder in-house, using cutting-edge CAD/CAM software and its own American-made CNC machines. Starting from a solid block of 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, each head and cylinder is carved with precision to perfection in one of Patrick Racing’s many CNC mills until it takes shape into the finished product. Each billet head is fully CNC-ported, too, which means each one is a perfect clone of the original. This is also true of Patrick Racing’s matching billet cylinders in both round and square conventional style.

You have a choice of 113-, 120- and 125-inch engines. Just check out the new 2004 FatBook.

Patrick Racing uses only the very best American-made components in the industry, like PR-designed JE forged pistons with moly rings; JIMS roller rocker arms, hydraulic roller lifters, and oil pumps; and Sumax pushrod tubes. All the components used are highly polished or chromed billet, except for the cases, which are polished cast aluminum. The cases Patrick Racing uses are manufactured to their specifications with no unsightly logos. All Patrick Racing motors are dynamically balanced to ensure the smoothest ride possible with less wear and tear on the motor—not to mention everything else on the bike that would have been negatively affected by unwanted and unnecessary vibration. And all Patrick Racing engines carry a 12-month warranty from date of delivery.
Patrick Racing’s commitment to quality is unsurpassed in the V-twin aftermarket. That commitment includes customer service and tech support personnel who are wholly dedicated to serving the needs of Patrick Racing’s customers.
